I am no fan of the Gazette but I have to say Matt's reports have been balanced and constructive.

It must be unique to have seen out the end of the Oyston era, the dawning of hope with the Simon Sadler take over and the current displays

Some have been fortunate to get a 5.
Kemp needs a run of games in the hope that we profit from his potential. Somehow Critchley needs to inspire a 90 min performance this Sat.

I agree Matt does well, and he responds to most questions from fans on Twitter too.

The reason is because he loves football, unlike so many other sports journalists (especially on the BBC) who are in it just for the money and will comment on anything.

He has to be diplomatic and sensible with his comments,even though I disagree with some of his marks.If he upsets everyone he looses access to the hand that feeds him

I think the fact he is not a BFC fan helps him to be a bit more objective and is watching from a more neutral viewpoint.
