Why is a Merseyside based ref taking a Liverpool game, and giving them a free kick for his obstructing a midfielder? A decision that led to the equaliser.

Thats a bit like saying any Blackpool fan is a supporter of Fylde Coast football.

Good to see you've come round to it anyway.

You have to take sides on derby day, and mine is not Fleetwood and never will be.😉

Any ideas of the ref on Tuesday .. that's what I thought this thread was about originally 🙄

Bobby Madley and Keith Stroud, both with PL and higher level EFL experience.
I'm a bit relieved that we're not getting L1 ref's after watching too many poor refereeing performances this season.

I googled them and see that Madley was relegated from PL in 2018 after several "dubious decisions" so make of that what you will, oh and him posting a video apparently mocking disabled people won't have helped!!!

As for Mike Dean, I've previously said that he likes to be the centre of attention whoever seems to be playing. Sounds from this thread as things haven't changed in that regard.

2 decent refs for League 1 games, hopefully they get all the big decisions right and our focus is talking about football and the players, as opposed to the officials.

Strangely I have never heard of any of the refs for the championship games, I thought they were meant to be premier league refs.

very poor decision but as I've said on here a few times, he's Mike Dean, the "i wanna be the star of the show" who will be making a note of all these controversial/terrible decisions for when he publishes his autobiography shortly after he retires.

20s, hope you're not going to buy the book when it eventually comes out.? 😉

A Manchester based ref took charge of the United v Liverpool game last week. Apparently he’s an Altrincham fan who comes from a United supporting family. It does happen occasionally

Bobby Madley is one of the few referees I don’t remember seeing him have a bad game. Thank God it’s not one of the bargain bin officials we’ve been subjected to all season!
