Hello good people and a very Happy New Year to you all. Bit of advice please, like to do the footy fixed odds and a lucky 15 on a Saturday. I don't have an online or mobile account as I never thought I really needed one as William Hill is only a five minute walk from the house. Admit have been a bit jealous about you with accounts that have the cash out ability.... Anyway sorry to drag on, have had a positive coronavirus test so obviously can't get to the bookies tomorrow so please could you tell me how easy it is to set up and how safe having a mobile account is.
Any advice on best sites and any do's and don'ts would be much appreciated. Thankyou all in advance for replying. Once again wishing everyone a safe and healthy 2021. UTMP.

Very easy. Bet365 would probably be my top tip for overall security & odds. Deposit £100 and you should get £100 in bet credits as well when opening the account. They are also good at sending you offers...for instance twice this week we've had 'bet £50 pre match, get £50 free bet in play'.

Paddypower have loads of boosts but their odds are generally less on single matches. Bet 5x£10 in a week, get free £10 bet following Monday. They also run an offer for 4 folds whereby you get your money back (max £10) if one of your selections is wrong and the other three win.

99% of my bets are linked with 'matched betting' whereby I use boosts and free bets to guarantee profit and I use as many bookies as I can. However, when placing 'punts', the above are where I go.

I’m not the worlds biggest gambler ( often partake in the free bets posted by Seaside_Hawk ).
Generally its Paddy Power and/or SKYBET that offer the deals....Paddy Power seems more frequent.

I’ve found both of them simple and easy to navigate around, probably favouring Paddy Power.
Many of the big bookies will offer different offers upon opening an online betting account, so always worth taking advantage of those.

Thanks Miko, but I only put on maybe £20 a week in total with all my bets..... Started to shake and sweat profusely when you mentioned £100 deposit 😂. Thankyou for taking the time to reply.

Sorry to be nieve but if I open up an account can I bet on footy and horses or do I need to open separate accounts for separate sports ect.

you wouldn’t have been able to go to the bookies anyway unless you live in a tier three area.

With any site you should be able to gamble on anything you want with one account. The exception I encountered (many moons ago so it may not still be the case) was I needed a different account for "casino" gambling

Didn't even cross my mind, what a dope I am. During last lockdown just resigned myself to the fact I wasn't going to have a bet. But for some daft reason not even thought about the fact we are all in tier 4 and I couldn't have gone anyway. Due to having test and a positive result feel I'm missing out on an activity I thanks to your post now realise I couldn't have participated in anyway lol!....

I don't really bet either but my Dad likes a flutter on the horses and is part owner of a few I'm always getting my son to put the bet on so I'm also thinking of opening an account is 365 best for horse racing?

So why not deposit £100 to keep you going for 5 weeks and gain £100 free as against depositing say £20 and getting £20 free?

If it were me, and the offer was available, I'd be depositing every last penny I had to have it matched.

Bet365 have a nice feature on their site whereby if your team goes 2 goals clear they are deemed winners on bets placed before kick off, very handy if you backed Carlisle last week or when we played Coventry away last season....

Don’t do it, would be my advice.

Miss a couple of weeks, then resume your trips to WH when back to normal.

The Apps (whilst very good), make it far too easy to get carried away and before you know it you’ll be betting on far more matches and races - potentially chasing losses etc. Leave well alone. Not something you want to be starting a New Year doing, imo.

Hey , how are you regarding the positive covid test ? Any symptoms?
Speedy recovery 👍

Just registered with Bet 365 the free offer up to 100 only works if you have actually bet 100 within 30 days. 👍
Simple

bet the 100 on a match and then lay it on betfair 👍

You will lose about a fiver - they give you the hundred then in free bets.

Do it again with the free betting money and lose another fiver ish.

You will now have about 190 quid in real cash in your account (or betfair) that can be withdrawn if you want 👍

Keep doing and rinse the bookies as you cannot lose.

Thanks for asking Lala. Think I've dodged a bullet as I seem to have been really lucky symptom wise. Been feeling a bit out of sorts and a bit more tired than normal. But put that down to a change of work hours over the Christmas period have had no classic covid symptoms fever, dry cough, loss of taste/smell or shortage of breathing.
Daughter and grandchildren came for half an hour on Christmas day, driving to work on Tuesday wife phoned to say daughter and all her family tested positive for corona. Turned car around to come home had to pass test centre on Yeadon way so called in explained the situation and they gave me a test there and then. Got results that evening initially just being informed I had the virus my mind started playing tricks thinking I was more poorly than I actually was. That nasty tickle in my throat, the constant cough, high temperature and tight chest. Then the wife telling me to get a grip 😁. No I didn't nor have had the classic symptoms as mentioned above. The wife did however tell Me I looked under the weather but fortunately I seem to have had it very mild. I would like to think because I'm a finely tuned athlete but more likely just very, very lucky. By the way the wife tested negative everyone I have been in contact with and have since been tested have all tested negative. Could my test result have been wrong?..

Bet365 is the one I use as they give Best Odds Guaranteed from the night before.

Depends on the person! Some I am sure have fallen into the trap like many vices.

The bookies have paid out millions to matched betting - so much so they ban you if they suspect it.
They will probably accept the few disciplined ones that slip through the cracks, in favour of the many they get to keep coming back, otherwise they wouldn’t continue to offer these deals.

I don’t think you get a false positive as much as a false negative , though I could be wrong.
Sounds like you’ve been virtually asymptomatic which is excellent 👍 Hope you continue to stay well and enjoy your bet 😉

Indeed Dave - but Matched Betting if done correctly means you cannot lose.

So always good to get a few quid back from them.
s1, not being a betting man I don't know anything about 'Matched Betting' etc.
I think that the one, and last time I bet on a horse was the Grand National, many years ago. I'm talking 1970s.
The horse was called Rondetto, and was leading by a mile (@20-1), and I had 10 Bob on it Coming down the last part of the course, the bloody thing fell. 🙄
I never bet on a horse again. 10 Bob was quite a bit in those days.
IO suppose that The lottery is betting, but I do that. 😠

Reality is they have been hit so hard by it over the last few years, they have cut down massively on offering the bets.

Guestimate the reduction to be something like 80%, however I am sure a foot few get hooked 👍
