More properties being boarded up on Henry Street today.

Because the improvements made to the east dont require any more space, we only needed BHS if a new East stand was to be built.
That doesn't gel with what the club have said. The proposed final phase of the improvements to the current stand would require the houses to be demolished to build a concourse behind the existing stand, together with access to that concourse and landscaping improvements on Henry Street. Nothing to do with a new East stand, but the improvements to the existing stand.

I see that a a property on the opposite side of Henry St was sold recently in an auction for £32k. Looks like a bit of major refurbishment would be required for it to be habitable. Not the most attractive location to live in, but I suppose if the opposite side was improved by the club and the council it would help.

Will have the best view in Blackpool when the houses opposite are gone 😄
Be up for £250k next summer 😂

As insider says, the east is having a concourse added into it, which will increase its footprint, and it will have a new facade too, so the appearance from the outside should be improved, and the council is creating a landscaped public realm adjacent to the east stand. Blackpool needs this kind of renewal, lots of it really.

The Compulsory Purchase has a number of stages. The Council approve; consultation occurs and if any objections received it goes to public inquiry; if the public enquiry approves the CPO will be given a date by which is becomes enacted. I believe we are at the beginning of that process.

Spot on Pete! The houses will still have to be demolished for the concourse development.

Sounds like a bargain.

From memory there were 4 houses not boarded up at the end of last season

We usually park near central drive and walk down Henry street

Has KoKo still got any land where we could bury the structure of the existing stand?
It would save a fortune in disposal costs

always thought it a bit odd that OO missed a trick in not buying houses on BHS west side, not for the club, but to hold some power for a later date.

He did own several. They were sold quickly and cheaply in that first tranche of asset sales if I remember rightly to pay the administration fees????
Lost the houses backing onto the training ground as well, if he hadn't annoyed the judge by borrowing against travelodge he might have kept a few for leverage

Did'nt realy grasp what you where on about, needed to be thought through better. Grew up there 65yrs ago did'nt quite get the message.
