By Monday night the sale of Morecambe fc to the Panjab Warriors Sporting group barring any last minute hold ups will go through. The board of directors have been re called to facilitate the above sale from the Bond Group to the Warriors. really pleased for the long suffering fans and the staff at the club. playing or behind the scenes. Being in the National league will be a tough ask but i would be confident that a re invigorated Morecambe will have a half decent chance of a quick return to the EFL. wish them well. No club deserves rubbish owners., We know that only to well.

ALMOST three years of being for salew. THE current ownere needs a long hard look at himself /. THIS could have beeen been settled monthys ago.

Great news and with Villa and another getting dealt with by UEFA it's clear a Football Regulator isn't needed. 👍

I'd like to see Morecambe back. There's potential in them that isn't there in Fleetwood and they actually established a reasonable fan base and did some really good incentives to get people in there and build it up.

It's a real shame they've regressed about 15 years in a couple of seasons thanks to their owner because there's a lot of good people been involved with Morecambe over the years.

JUST hope that they quickly recover from the turmoil created by the so called current owner. as i said in my O/P this could have been resolved last season. For whatever reason this never happened. It WILL be a tough ask to bounce straight back into the EFL but at least Shrimps will at least have a team to follow.

the sale of Morecambe fc had STILL not gone through. The board of directors has been requested to stand down AGAIN. WHILST a sale is hopefully concluded TOMMOROW.. what a Shambles

ITS all gone quiet at Morecambe. HOPEFULLY this WILL be resolved but according to BBC lancs last night. Oustanding wages and unpaid VAT was something like 126.000 pounds. This NEEDS to be resolved.

It's ridiculous. This Jason Whittingham guy just keeps moving the goalposts.

JUST EFFING hope thats its a GENUINE buyer WITH CREDIBILTY . and the SHRIMPS can have a successful campaign in the National LEAGUE. which is probably the hardest league to escape from.

I've been looking at his various business and sports interests and he's a very strange character -I think he reckoned he could make a few quid from his Morecambe venture and failed miserably.

He and others like Chansari have personality disorders -narcissistic and selfish but that goes with the territory I'm afraid.

I see Massimo Cellini who owned Leeds, went onto Brescia in Italy, but they've been liquidated as a club following a financial scandal.

How do they keep getting away with it?

The sooner football has an independent regulator the better. The people in the FA are not and have never been fit for purpose, and how on earth these clowns are in charge of saying as to someone is fit and proper to own a football club is beyond comprehension.
The people running football couldn't even be trusted to run a Subbuteo league.

I don't know enough about the Brescia situation but there have been similar long term problems in Italian football; failing to deal with inherited financial problems being one of them.
At Dirty Cellino inherited a 35m black hole and had to deal with it, forcing GFH to give up some bizarre and restrictive terms built into the sales contract; similar to what Bates took on from Krasner and his chums.

Leeds Trust backed Krasner and GFH but hated Bates and Cellino- how do the Trusts keep getting away with it ? 😉

Heard tonight on radio Lancashire the clowns that own Morecombe owned Worcestershire rugby union club and did exactly the same thing. And they still managed to pass the FA's fit and proper test, just shows the due diligence and scrutiny they put in place for potential owners.
The FA and EFL should be personally held responsible for bad owners as it's ultimately down to them as to who owns a football league club.
Can bet your bottom dollar if they had to underwrite or be guarantees for owners they approved there would be more stringent and vigorous tests applied.
Bet it's all done at expensive dinner meetings and hospitality events.

Worcester Rugby Club did indeed have to drop to a lower league . National League have currently as of last night . Thursday . Placed a transfer embargo on Morecambe. So Derek Adams cant move players out or bring any in. Utter S..tshow

To be fair , no player in their right mind would sign for them whilst this is ongoing embargo or not .

Statement this afternoon....

Bond Group are aware that there is much ongoing speculation around the sale of the club.
We can confirm that a take-over deal is near completion with a consortium of individuals headed by people with genuine football experience, to acquire Bond group’s interest in the club. We can also confirm that despite speculation on the buyers’ identity, nobody from the consortium has yet been named publicly and recent guesses are not accurate.

We are grateful for the speed with which the new buyer has worked with their legal team on concluding their due diligence and negotiating the contracts, given the time pressures the club is facing.

The buyers have funds available to bring payments for the club up to date and we are working to conclude the transaction as quickly as possible.

We will issue a further update shortly.
