Dougall becoming a mystery, annoying lack of explanation. Maybe recovering from Covid. Matt S. is good but seems to be some understanding with NC that he doesn't ask questions about certain absences .
 
Goal Morecambe. Garbutt asleep, out of position. Totally against the run of play. But we are creating nowt.
 
Oh Bugger! No worries in a friendly though. We do need a right back, a creative midfielder and Simms up top on a permanent deal. But we have a strong squad and it will all work out.
 
First half summary. Organised but neutered.

Mass defending from Morecambe though.

Embleton, Simms, Ballard and Dougall would make a huge difference to this side, we've got the bones without the flesh.

Maybe Carey, TJJ, Ekpiteta and Dougall will sort that?

I’m not sure how much longer we can keep talking about Embleton, Simms and Ballard in relation to BFC.
Ones committed to another club
Ones injured and unlikely to feature anywhere for a few months
Ones under contract at a L1 club
We’re 7 days from the season starting and we’ve got what we’ve got and have to move on I’m afraid
 
Anderson is not a creative midfielder, in fact I'm not actually sure what his best position is, maybe a number 10? We just don't have that creative midfielder, unless Carey can step up to the mark, he is certainly that player but is he good enough? I hope he gets a good chance in the second half. If we are going to play 4 at the back and 2 defensive midfielders in front then we have to have a player like Embo to sit in front and produce things for the forwards. Keshi isn't that player unfortunately. Right back and creative midfielder an absolute priority either before next Saturday or at the very worst by transfer deadline day.

I hope he makes me eat my words but Keshi's best position is on the bench.

I know I'm just describing the gaps. And who might fill them.

I like Anderson, but doesn't score enough goals. Hope this season he does.

It's like we're playing Accy. All the possession but no creativity. It's Maxwell to Keogh to Hubby and then very little movement off the ball for Hubby to move it on. We don't cope very well when there are 10 men behind the ball whatever the level of the opposition.

Good effort from Bowler who has livened us

Few subs about to come on. Can see Lavery and TJJ, I think. And Carey and Stewart, and Casey for Keogh

How quick is Bowler? An article said he may have been very fast almost like CJ but I didnt see that at Southport, but he did look lively.
