Yes its true we did do better against sides who didn't just defend.

But equally sides we face will have some very decent talent available too.

Our strikeforce can cause anyone issues, CJ etc, but we have to start taking more of the chances for me.

Started last season by makihg chances but not scoring. Position changed when Madine played with Yates and Dougall was in midfield
 
We’ll be competitive in most games but we simply haven’t got any X factor, we just won’t score enough goals. Certainly be nowhere near the play offs and would be happy just staying up as things stand. Unless we get a couple of stellar loan signings. And I’m usually optimistic by nature.

It was weird last season, but as soon as teams defended like their livelihoods depended on it we struggled. All new squad had to react to adversity and galvanised eventually.

I've seen some nice movement this pre season, but a lack of finishing, no matter whether friendly or real game, a good chance should be buried all the same.

We look weaker than the the side that got promoted in some attacking and creative areas, which is disappointing considering were competing in a league above. The goals of Simms and kaikai in particular, plus Embletons play hasn't really been replaced.

Lavery looked lively when I saw him but we haven't seen him with Yates so likely to come on for him.

Hopefully Mitchel is OK.

Too much negativity on here. Yet again. Default setting.

We are missing Simms and Embo but TJJ has just arrived and Carey looks promising. The front 4 that started didn't really work today but it's extremely early days. Long season ahead. Be patient folks.
 
Must admit I am not as upbeat about the start of the season after today. Sticking all my hopes on Madine.
