A statement from Morecambe. the current wage has not been paid to the staff and players as it should have been . Not good. Morecambe has been up for sale for quite a considerable time. Obviously the current owner doesnt have the money to pay what he should be . Senior players not sure about taking to the pitch versus Swindon Town tomorrow. This was on BBC lancs tonight. Sounds like ANOTHER useless conman running a club he cannot afford. And the current board dont seem to be able to do anything about it. Morecambe and their supporters deserve a whole lot better.
 
It's a worrying situation, and, like the saga at Reading, shows how inadequate the EFL's rules are in situations where good faith action on the part of club owners can't be guaranteed.
 
Morecambe are a good smaller club. they obviously dont attract the same matchday revenue being in a part of the country that simply doesnt attract much investment. A small fanbase doesnt help. Wish them well.
