Most skilful player to play for the Pool

Lualua was decent for about 10 games then went completely off the boil and looked like he'd never played football. Didn't even get named as a sub against West Ham.

Wes for me

In my lifetime Jimmy Armfield and Tony Green. Being a schoolboy i sadly only saw them a few times but never forgot how good they were. In recent years i would say it was Charlie.

Suddick obviously comes to mind for my early Pool days.

More recently, Charlie & GTF.

I'm enjoying the quick feet of Jerry Yates. Almost a Cruyff turn yesterday til the ball stuck in the mud😜

While Suddick and Green are not really recent years, they are the best two I have seen in my lifetime. Many seem to rate Green the higher of the two as he had skill and work rate together. Suddick was frustrating and inconsistent, but on his day sublime. If he had the same work rate and consistency as Green it would have been no contest. The fact that there is a debate maybe suggests that skill wise The King may have edged it.

In recent years Richie Wellens/ Wes and Charlie.

I seem to remember Alan Suddick scoring in an Anglo Italian match in the 70's when he chipped the ball over first defender ran round him, did the same to the next defender and chipped the goalie to score, an amazing talent!! He was an under 21 England International at Newcastle and its a shame he didn't go on to becoming a full international.

Alan Suddick, ahead of his time, used to love his warm up before a match, he would go all the way around the cinder track just keeping the ball up, feet ,head, shoulders, then back to changing room, job done.

Recent times Kevin Phillips worth a shout , his goal in this game was something special:

Also never forget Phil Clarksons back heeler!

One of my favourite goals that as I was watching his movement in the build up in front of us. He'd caught my eye as he dropped deep and you could see he'd spotted the possibility before anyone else, wondered what he was up to. Master of his craft.

Made the absolute most of watching that squad that season as you knew Oyston wouldn't fund it after the one attempt to yoyo.

Loved Phillips.
Pure class couldn’t believe we signed him 35.
Still got us 20 goals in a season

Micky Mellon was incredibly skilful. Him and James Quinn playing keep ball in the corners when winning was highly entertaining. A close second I think to Wes Hoolahan
