Murders in Blackpool

Near the Gynn the other week and now in the Town Centre.

Very disturbing
The Gynn one I think she had vulnerabilities and drugs were involved.

I’d put a fair whack on the other one having drugs involvement too.

It’s very sad. I don’t think it’s a worry to walk the streets though if you aren’t engaged in the drugs world.

Aside from that I rarely go into town but was forced to an appointment and parked around lunchtime in that area. Was gobsmacked how may middle aged people looking rat arsed were all on the piss in these bars on Queen Street. Probably a decade or more since I used to go out for beers with mates along that strip in the evening but it was always dead in the daytime. Looked like a pissheads hangout.

Used to do the Sunday lunchtime in the 80s 90s, yates, rumours and the flagship, hardly any trouble. The streets were safe back then.

Council/Police need to close certain bars and put a block on new licenses

Police need to visit and check licensed premises regularly to make sure they are operating properly and as safely as possible.

It seems a free for all at the moment.

Blackpool Police statement.

You may have seen that a woman very sadly died following a public order incident in Blackpool, and we wanted to provide you with an update.

A postmortem has concluded there are no suspicious circumstances following her death.

We were called at around 5.15pm yesterday (Sunday, October 15th) to reports of a disturbance at Bar 19 on Queen Street, Blackpool.

We attended and found an altercation had broken out inside the premises. Immediately afterwards a 61-year-old woman collapsed and was taken to hospital, where she sadly died a short time later.

Enquiries have been ongoing to establish if there is a link between the altercation and the woman’s collapse. However a postmortem carried out today (Monday, October 16th) has established that there is no connection between the two.

The woman’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Two men – aged 55 and 41 and from Blackpool – were arrested at the scene on suspicion of manslaughter, but have since been de-arrested.

Both are now under arrest on suspicion of affray in relation to the public order incident in the bar.
