NC post Liverpool game

A sense of intense perfectionism there that I think understates the level of the opposition and how well we did first half.

A bit harsh in places as we are a LG 1 club playing some of the worlds best players 🥴
Shows he doesn’t do complacency though 👍

I thought that, but I wonder if it's a sense of trying to express that he believes in the players and not wanting to treat them in a condescending way - i.e. 'we did great against the real footballers' - he's probably quite conscious of not letting on that they're not as good as who he used to work with.

He's thinking about every aspect of not only what the team gives him,but what he can give to the team, hence maybe altering half time team talks.

I liked that bit. It's, to me, the sign of a decent thinking man, to wonder if you could change, not just berate people for not getting it. Communication is a two way process and sometimes people don't get that.

We must never go back to the little Blackpool tag. Tony Parkes did great things in bringing players to the club but the tag still wrankles.

you what you say?

It was a case of after the Lord Mayors show second half wasn’t it? Mmmm.....jumpers for goalposts....

Had to chuckle when he said we won’t come up against that sort of quality every week, er you can say that again NC.

Troublingly he has spotted a real concern about the way we lose focus at the start of the second half. My hope is that this concern will be mitigated somewhat in real competition by us starting second halves with the same eleven that finish the first.

It was noticeable under Larry as well that sometimes we would start games like a steam train and then come out in the second half as if we were having an afternoon stroll. For me, goals in the first 5 mins of the second half set a far better benchmark than goals in the first 5 minutes of the first half.
