Never had Ben Stokes as a Tory

Freddy Flintoff is a right Tory irc. Tbh, I don't think cricket is a hotbed of socialism, though Viv Richards is a bit of a lefty - I remembering him lecturing Aggers on the nature of society in his laid back but tremendously powerful way and one of my favourite ever interviews was Dennis Skinner talking to Blowers on a View from the Boundary. Two more contrasting people you could not imagine, but a fascinating conversation.

My all time favourite English commentator was CMJ whose view on life made Boris look like a liberal lefty. I am also very fond of Boycs and I doubt his views tally with my own.

This has made me incredibly wistful for cricket.

Boris has the ability to give a very professional and powerful presentation when he puts his back into it, and can be effective in a more humorous way even when he doesn’t.
The trouble is the content of what he is actually saying does not usually bear close scrutiny, and he is certainly not a ‘details’ man, which is why this latest effort appears to be so full of holes.
Let’s hope we get more solid information and advice to bring some clarity in the next day or two.
This needs to be done as well as he can possibly do it.

Regardless of political leanings I’m sure BoJo wants us to actually get through this and is taking the advice of the top scientists in the country.

The problem isn’t the message. It’s how the great unwashed of this country will interpret this message. Give them an inch and they’ll take a mile
