Like a few other supporters I spent part of lockdown writing and, am now pleased to announce my first Blackpool F.C book has arrived and is available to purchase via eBay on the links below.

Cheltenham Town v Blackpool - F.A. Cup Third Round 13th January 1934

On 13th January 1934, Cheltenham Town F.C played against Second Division Blackpool F.C in the 3rd Round of the F.A Cup. It was the first time that non-league Cheltenham had played a League side at home. This was the biggest match in their history and was a huge occasion both for the club and the town.

However, this was only part of the story. Cheltenham had begun their extraordinary F.A. Cup journey way back in the Extra Preliminary Qualifying Round in early September 1933. They endured ten matches, including two replays, one defeat and one re-instatement, just to get to the 3rd Round. They travelled north to play against Carlisle United in the 2nd Round and against all the odds, beat the league team to set up the big match against the “Seasiders”.

Read the summaries from every match, the 3rd Round draw, the build-up and ultimately the game on January 13th 1934 against Blackpool.

This an A5 size book with 103 pages.

My copy turned up yesterday afternoon. I, of course, skipped to the main event but now I've gone back to the pre qualifying round. A fascinating story so far.

Love going to Cheltenham. My stepson was at University there and loved it. Me and wife went many times whilst he was there and (me and mates) to the 2-1 win during the perfect 10. Happy times.
