New What we all watching / recommendations thread?

Dodgy .. outrageous behaviour! Genuinely hope they find a way of shutting down these dodgy sticks so they lower the prices for honest people like myself!
People moving to dodgy sticks = major wake up call to Sky, TNT etc ... lower prices for all as they try desperately to stem customer haemorrhaging.

Gave dept Q a go didnt make 1 episode some of the acting is dire .It's just not believable the shot officer with bad attitude to everyone is so over played it'got annoying within 5 mins .He wouldn't get away with that attitude either .The chap turning up for a job I knew within a second he would be given a job and have no doubt he will be brilliant .None of it is realistic or believable won't be watching any more

The Capture on Netflix is worth a view. Scary use of CCTV mixed with a conspiracy theme in Series One made this a great option to binge watch.

Was recommended The Survivors on Netflix but got to say it's like a bad Am Dram drama! I watched the first two and then googled how it finished and glad I saved 4 hours of my life.

Watching The Village on Prime Video with John Simm and Maxine Peak on the recommendation of a friend.
This is an old one from about 15 years ago that I must have missed first time around.
Superb. It’s the story of a village in Derbyshire starting just before the First World War and moving forwards as seen through the eyes of one of the oldest men in the country.
The camera never goes out of the village. A brutal watch at times, but quite compelling.

It’s a tv program not real life….Deary me

The Devil's Plan is the original of the previously mentioned Genius Game. It's Korean, season 2 is out on Netflix. It's better than the ITV version as it is held in a Big Brother style house with far more interaction between the cast of stunning Korean celebs and a few mixed geeks.

Gone a bit retro as I don’t usually watch much that involves numerous episodes. Last tango in Halifax. Really good well written & funny. Great actor’s too. Also trying Life on Mars belatedly, again quite funny. Quirky & a bit cringe at times but entertaining. I remember the 70’s were boozy times but really 🤔 oh & don’t they all look young 😂

REQUEST FROM ACE ME

Looking for a series that has humour and a bit of action. Not retro and deffo not Sports related.

Any ideas you good good peeps?

Started watching last night. Will carry on I think and see where it goes.
I think it took me a while to get over the leap from the books where she’s a night detective looking into cold cases alone with help from Bosch, but in this she’s assembled an EDI group of volunteers instead.

The Chestnut Man on Netflix - Danish thriller noir about a serial killer. Not much laughs but the Scandi types do this sort of thing very well. Of course the yanks then remake them and ruin them.

The Red Riding Trilogy on Netflix is worth a watch. Drama loosely based on corruption in the West Yorkshire Police around the time of the Ripper murders. Good cast and sub plots.

Just watched Happy Gilmore 2 which came out straight to Netflix this morning.

Lots of famous golfers in it and a lot of the original cast but I thought it was a load of crap if I'm honest. They should have left it alone.

Brilliant in every way
yep, that good i've rewatched the last 15 minutes over again.

After the first two episodes i wasn't sure how i wanted it to turn out but of course that was made easier by their partners. I cursed when the credits started rolling at the end as i wanted to see a bit more of where it went to.

I definitely fell in love with the older Alison.
