New What we all watching / recommendations thread?

Sorry, I tried to respond, Karen but it wouldn’t let me, the forum seems to play up a lot nowadays. At first I thought people must have me on ignore but then realistically realised, “nah, I’m far too vanilla (on here!) for that.. 😂

I hope you enjoy it..script is great, it’s very funny and the lead character is so likeable despite his shortcomings…

You’re not vanilla !
I think I will love it looking at the reviews.
Hope you and your family are all doing ok 😍 x
Nice to see Newholland back on earlier too, hope he and his fam are doing well.

We’re all good thanks and hope yours are too 🧡.
Besotted by Charlie! Who’d ever know that sitting in your car for hours on end, listening to ABBA’s Honey Honey on repeat, whilst he pomps the horn and presses the windows up and down could be such fun! 😂😂

It’s on BBC catchup… my Australian friend put me on to it and I just can’t get enough of it! 😂 it’s got rave rewards too…

Watched Rake last year. Enjoyed it, Roxburgh was very good as you say. A decent comedy series

Anyone watched the German series DARK ? recommend ?

We watched all 3 seasons on Netflix a couple of years ago. Very well made series, and a bit weird.

Slow Horses is the best series we've watched for a long time. Season 6 confirmed for next year

Done 3 episodes out of 6 of The Riot Women, BBC.
My god Sally Wainwright is some superb writer.
I thought it might be a bit cheesy based on the plot line, but it’s just excellent observational northern drama again, but as funny as it is sad and deep at times.
I’ve cried one minute and literally laughed out loud 2 minutes later.
Amazing cast and acting.
Fantastic.

Chad Powers has been quite fun......Pro Footballer has to use SFX make up to go back to college football after his career is destroyed....7/10
Mayor of Kingstown.....1st episode of 4th series was very good.....Taylor Sheridan, has stopped writing it now, which could be a good thing as series 3 was a mess and obviously written on the back of a fag packet.
The Witcher......Turned off after 20 minutes, a total dud

There is no better or astute writer of middle aged women out there, she nails it every time, it’s another great series from her and the acting is brilliant, men do get pretty short thrift though.

Men do !!
Yes, she is so unbelievably talented, and because of that gets all the best actors to work with.
Fantastic stuff.

Another vote for the Hack, which is an important story IMO. A bit unconventional in the way it was done, but effective when you get the hang of it. Great performance from David Tennent. FFS roll out Leveson part 2 asap.
Enjoyed Coldwater, and loving Riot Women.

Predator: Badlands was full of action, visually stunning and an interesting take on the franchise.
Surprised by the emotional depth.
It was out this week in cinemas. Catch it on biggest screen possible, preferably IMAX.
9/10 from me

Just finished watching Hack, ITV, the true story about the demise of the News of the World and the backhanders that were prevalent then, and no doubt now. Well worth looking it up, particularly if you're a Guardian reader.
Hated it - thought the whole concept was flawed and a bit toe curling.

I’ll be at the cinema again this weekend to see the remake of Running Man.
Looks like it could be better than the Arnie version. And at least Stephen King is endorsing this one as being much closer to his pseudonym book.
