New What we all watching / recommendations thread?

Just started "The Boys" which is a really cool spin on the super hero genre, much more realistic than that marvel/DC bullshite.

Also started "Love Death and Robots", which is like a compilation of horror/Sci fi short stories, almost HP Lovecraft esque. Very brutal, and very graphic with all sorts of twists and turns. Very easy to jump in and out of as episodes are so short, between 5 and 20 mins in length. Not for the faint of heart!

War stuff - band of brothers and The pacific. Spielberg & Hanks produced. BoB is well known but i only heard about TP recently. They share the same format including leading off with interviews with the real geezers who are depicted.
Generation Kill is also v good. Based on true story of USMC SOps in Iraq war. Dark & funny.

Was recommended a one off documentary on Netflix called knuckles. It's about bare Knuckle fighting amongst families in Ireland and it is a brutal watch albeit compelling at the same time. If you do watch it, do so with subtitles as the accents are incredibly broad.

Ready for a new series. Someone give me some suggestions
If you don’t mind foreign language stuff, ‘My Name’ and ‘Vincenzo’ are good. Both South Korean gangster themes. My Name is more serious and my favourite of the two, Vincenzo a bit more humour.

Just started watching it..looks good

Did the first episode last night following on from your post. Not read any reviews so it will be intersting to see where it goes.

Same here, just finished it based purely off this thread and recommendations, enjoyed it. I don't watch a lot of TV so has to be decent to keep me interested haha

Just finished watching both series of 'Raising Dion', an adaption of the comic of the same name, a decent series.

Watched Hustle on Netflix last night and thought it was good, currently watching We own this city about bent cops in Baltimore and it’s excellent

Just finished Obi-wan.
Ok ending but generally poor.

For Trekkies, Star Trek Strange New Worlds is surprisingly good, as is S3 of The Orville

Just watched Everything I know about love on iPlayer. Watchable romcom over 7 episodes.

Finally, another thumbs up for Everything Everywhere All At Once.

We watched both seasons of State of the Union this week, 15 minute episodes, written by Nick Horny. Season 1 I really enjoyed, very poignant, latest one is set in USA and it was good but not the same connection as the first season.

Umbrella Academy season 3 has just started, really enjoyed the first tow. Lots of stuff at the moment but I have literally just started the Soprano's for the first time, on episode 2 and I'm already right into it. Not sure how I have avoided this for so long!!

Nick Horny 🤔
Those step one pants are messing with your mind.

Paramount+ starts on 5 or is it Sky...I've not quite worked it out

The Offer.......Brilliant, if you love the Godfather, it's Albert Ruddy's experience of producing the first movie with Miles Teller as Rudd and Mathew Goode as the amazing Robert Evens......10 episodes, but it's excellent, worth it for the Brando scene where he becomes Don Corleone

Under the banner of Heaven should also be turning up on Sky.......Started very good but went a bit off towards the end...but still worth a watch.

Bag of Bones......a Stephen King adaption with Pierce Brosnan. If you have read the book, you know what's coming, so this could be interesting

The Bear....only got the first episode but it's looking very good....and it's about cooking!!!!
UPDATE*** The Bear was excellent, really different and really looking forward to the Bear opening in Series 2**
