Next weekend massive

After a great result and performance yesterday we find ourselves 1point and 1 place off a play off place.
Next week away at early pacesetters Oxford is huge. Win there, and I know we can, it will be a massive statement of intent and will no doubt take us up into the play off zone. A point wouldn’t be bad and to be fare I’d probably take now. UTP

So if and when we play the Massive Sheffield Wednesday again, would that be a massive statement of intent at a massive club on a massive weekend? Just asking for a friend 😀

Play the same team walk away with 1 point minimum, but we know he likes to spoil our fun by playing dembele up front on his own and lump it forward to him using his height advantage

Just been looking and the last team Oxford lost to were Port Vale - since then they've played Fleetwood, Exeter, Stevenage, Shrewsbury and Bristol Rovers - hardly stellar sides - Saturday will show us how good both us and they are.
Lol but before that they beat Charlton, Derby and Barnsley… 🤔 🤷🏻‍♂️

There’s a certain Mr. Brannagan who plays for them and is nominated along with Jordan Rhodes for player of the month.

Should be an interesting game... We're not quite firing on all cylinders yet and they seem to have hit a rich vein of form. Maybe this season will be our opportunity to return the favour they did us in 1996. I can see Blackpool peaking towards the back end of the season, so the pressure may well be on for second place..

Their current form certainly adds a bit of interest and intrigue to this fixture. If we do well, it will give a bit of a boost. If we don’t, it’s still only three points and I will not regard it as a disaster. We seem to be on an upward trend at the moment but I think we still need to and can, improve.

We won't be peaking at the end of the season if Rhodes goes back in January

Next weekend is the 13th game in a 46 game season. Nothing more, nothing less.
Disagree with this ...

It’s a 6 pointer in terms of any automatic aspirations

.. but agree with that. I'd say Oct, Nov, Dec gives us a real chance - we have Pompey, Oxford, Peterborough and Bolton but that's only 4 tough games in a run of 13 - I'd say before Xmas I'd be disappointed if we hadn't piled on at least 25 points.

Agree, under Robinson we always struggled against the 'big 6', which ultimately cost us in the grand scheme of 46 games, year after year. You have to be trying to take points of the teams that are your direct competitors for promotion. Without it, you're *hoping they drop points against the so called 'lesser teams' in League One, which is taking the control away from yourselves.

Personally, I hope you choke, of course, this Saturday 😅. But for you guys I think it's another barometer, akin to Charlton (lol too soon?) and Derby a few weeks ago.
