Nice idea Critch

Better finishing and cut out individual errors and I've no doubt we'd have got something from last night but my two observations are was it so high intensive we were knackered after an hour and was it too much of a gamble to play all three strikers.

It could have worked, it didn't, we learn lessons and move on.

Lavery and Yates may be classed as strikers but JJ definitely isn't one...he hasn't had one shot this season. A flop!

But thats also down to us not being good enough with the ball, not set up right to take advantage of our strikers who want nice through balls and crosses.

Its hard to judge the strikers as they are getting no consistent service of any quality.

I agree the service is poor but JJ offers little. I'd get rid in Jan if possible.

I think he's getting better, sat he was good and I thought he was decent enough yesterday too. These players need patience, if they were the real deal they wouldn't have come on loan to Blackpool. Give him longer, its not like the team or Yates is playing any better. That's not a dig at Yates either BTW, just the service they've been getting or lack of

Of what ive seen he had a few half chances that were fluffed, like against Fulham won it back and is 1 on 1 with the keeper although the ball is close to the keeper, hits the keepers leg with his attempted pass or to go round him.

If we were a side thats creating lots of chances though we don't know if he would put more away or if Yates would also, as we just don't create them much.

I just don't think JJ has it in him at this level. He's this season's Woodburn I'm afraid.

I would like to see Jerry playing as an old fashioned number 9 - straight down the middle, and stop covering every blade of grass. However, to do this and score goals (that's his job & what he wants to do), the midfield and wingbacks need to start creating more chances.
Critch needs to get the best out of Jerry, and if the existing players aren't capable of creating assists - change them.

Not much, but then people were calling Jerry a flop early doors, in fact some are now, they're like children.
Jerry is far from being a flop, he's an excellent player, who works tremendously hard for the team.
In my opinion (for what it's worth) he just isn't being used to his strengths & is wasting energy covering every blade of grass. This may not accord with Critch's preferred tactics, but why not try playing him as a number 9, straight down the middle, with the ball played on the grass (not 8' in the air) - he would return to being every defenders nightmare.

It was only in Feb (so 2 months before Wembley) that you were slagging off Dougal and Stewart saying they were too limited as players and unable to press.

6 weeks later they ran the show in the play offs and were awesome last season.

It’s hard to take your overreactions seriously?
Perhaps you'll take our current league position seriously?
Will we see the injury prone duo play often enough and at the level required this season I wonder?

TJJ has bags of skill and quick feet. He can also see a pass. For me he needs a free role to roam just behind Yates or Lavery but not both of them. He's has had at least 2 assists so far with defence splitting passes and that's something he has in his locker.
I don't see him as a central striker however.

Jerry needs Madine alongside him asap, similar to last seasons start.
1 goal will fire him up again.
Get Simms in January too & Mitchell back on wings with Bowler.
Sorted!

...and you've no comment to make on last night's result, have you? I'll make my point whether you or anyone else likes it or not. It's called an opinion.
I do have a comment to make on last nights result as it happens... but what's the point in sharing it with a clueless fuckwhit like you?
