Nobbers wtf

Weird announcement to make by their club…..

I like to take circumin (Tumeric) daily as a cracking anti oxidant etc. I’ve not felt the urge to tweet it out, although I’m now giving you notice of it and this is my first attempt 😁

Chunky, I now feel the urge to say:
I take 1 capsule a day for a recently discovered genetic blood disorder & to reduce inflammation from wear and tear - although some experts I've spoken with, say there's no medical evidence to back up the claims that it is a benefit for anything 👍

It’s good stuff.

Examine is a good place to check out real results and trials. What is solidly science backed and what is bro science or backed up by a clinical study by the salesman and his mum…

Not sure how much benefits they will see, but turmeric with circumin & black pepper (to aid absorption) is a pretty good, natural way to reduce inflammation. Maybe our lot should be on it, with all the long term sick notes. Not heard of it being used for footballers but I’m interested to hear how the trial goes.

I take it twice daily, it does help a little with stiff joints. It was about £15 quid a bottle of 90 tabs.

If Peter or Ryan are concerned that this commits the majority of their war chest for the season, then they should consider buying them from the gaff in Poulton square where buying a second bottle is half price.

Looking at the benefits, maybe they need to offer it to their fans:

A good quality turmeric supplement can help reduce arthritis pain, inflammation and toxins. Not just that, it could help improve your heart health and even symptoms of depression.

I take a teaspoonful of Turmeric with a touch of black pepper, honey and Almond Milk every morning, and have done for a couple of years.

Thanks for that Chunky.
The studies seem either neutral or positive in outcome. That said anything that is genuinely bio-active usually has a down side whether it be dose dependent or what you take it with. A while ago I was grating turmeric root into hot milk and making a drink, then found a study that suggested a reduction in activity if boiled then another study showing mild heating with increasing bio availability, with and increase of up to 30% if you used a souring agent. At that point I gave up and stopped taking it all together.
I think i will start taking high doses, this time in capsule form from a reputable supplier.
This paper is also pretty good...just skimmed it but will read more closely later. The journal and the final author are both legit.
