Not going to be Karl Robinson

Shame, would have been a good move for us.

I think we were only ever bait to get their chairman to invest.

Our board wanted to keep it under wraps. His agent leaked it to the press.

Can't fault what he's doing at Oxford currently, and wouldn't have been the worst option, but personally I'm pleased it's not him. Never really warmed to him as a character and always felt he had a massive chip on his shoulder while at MK Dons. They backed him heavily and it took him a long time to get them up at a time when League One was quite weak.

I've just said on Twitter that Robinson and his agent have played us like a fiddle to get what they want at Oxford.

We're now in a position where the next guy we approach is going to know he's, at best, our 3rd choice.

Evatt has been there all along. I just hope we don't end up with "Hecky"...

As far as we're concerned, Robinson has put a positive spin on it, meaning whoever we look to next will be getting a great opportunity.
You'd imagine whoever we do target will either be currently out of work, or employing a position not in management based on getting our fingers burned this time. Can't see us settling for Heckingbottom if Robinson is the standard we're aiming for.

I definitely think we were played like a fiddle on this - his agent purposely leaking the story to strengthen their position.

A steep learning curve for BM, but one he'll hopefully benefit from eventually.

It would be mildly amusing if whatever his chairman has promised him to keep him there didn't materialise. But fair enough if he wants to stay.
Considering it's the second time he's rejected us, if we've any pride in ourselves we won't go there again.

I didn't know that Robinson had signed a contract there until summer 2022 which would make things trickier.
The bottom line is though he will probably have been made aware of all the good things that are happening here with our new owner and if he fancies it strongly enough it could still happen.

Keep Dunn in charge until the end of the National League North Season, then …….

We're not in any great hurry, we're not going up or going down. We rushed a bit last time and ended up with Grayson again.

Is it just me or is anyone else fast losing confidence in Mansford. If after all this we end up with ' Hecky' ill be pretty p*ssed off with it all.
Fcuks sake just get Evatt, why are they d*cking around so much.

Not really, he aimed high with Robinson which was a worthwhile gamble that didn't pay off.
If that is the calibre of manager he's aiming for, then he's doing something right.

Can't see it being Heckingbottom, his comments about him last week were more of an acknowledgement that he was aware of the rumours but nothing more than that. As a mate of his he was more than likely just not running him down by completely ruling him out.

It doesn't make sense to have grandiose plans in place for the future of the club, to then be half arsed about appointing the manager.

Have faith.

Which manager are you thinking about , seeing as Ian Evatt doesn't manage in that division?

Following KR's latest statement, Oxford fans now seem to think we may get him in the summer if we keep Dunn for the rest of the season.
