Nothing in Yates rumours

I think most level headed fans know that rumours are just rumours and understandably there seems to be some excitement over the signing of Jerry which appears to be spiralling out of control.

If it happens, I will be over the moon but if it doesn't then so be it, Bruce will have another forward lined up.

Until anything official comes out from a reliable source, I'm not going to get my hopes up.

As pointed out, no respected journo has talked about Yates even being linked to us. Asked Amos to confirm that it was rubbish and confirmed nothing in it.

People need to stop getting their hopes up and let's be realistic. There is more chance that Jerry is off to Charlton too tbh.

Agree just cannot see him dropping down to league 1 with the wages we can afford when he has done a decent job in the Championship. Bigger fish than us will be interested. However if not Jerry then who are these “edge of our seat players “ SB was talking about. Our signings so far have been really solid but “edge of our seat stuff” 🤔 no don’t think so, if anything the players we have lost fit into that category 😩
 
Can anyone tell me the last time this chap knew anything about possible incomings? Where’s Tony Durkin when you need him?

That said I’d be amazed if JY came back personally

Think Quested went to THe Sun. I vividly recall the back page headline of 'BALL TO BLACKPOOL'.

At that time it was a massive headline on us. We didn't really get much coverager in the press, but I recall The Weekly News had an interview with Mickey Walsh under the headine. 'TV Boys can't be wrong' which highlighted at the time, Oct?, we'd been on the TV more than any other club, which included Granada in there (TV co and not CF Granada of Andulucia, sp.).

God I was proud to be a Seasider back then. PNE and Blackbum fans could only nod in appreciation.

Still proud and will never duck out of telling anyone, but times were times.

TQ went to the Daily Star. Think he had an imaginatively titled column called 'a quested of sport'.
 
I don’t think he’s coming back but I wouldn’t go off what the gazette reporter says.

They are nowhere near what they used to be back in the day where most rumours/gossip would stem from them like reading the Martin Gritton signing had fallen through.
