Now we know

I wondered a while ago what would happen on here when the winning run came to an end, and now we have it. The usual suspects lash out at their favourite scapegoats and half the squad have to be shipped out in January.

Good job we didn't lose.
I still feel very positive about our season. Lincoln are a good team and we battered them for 80 minutes.

Easy win without their keepers heroics first half and dropping deep against ten men

I bet you couldn't wait to have a pop at the supporters, we deserved 4 points but we are so weak squad depth wise, can you deny that? It isn't SB's fault. We have 13 points out of 15 but 1-0 up against 10 men, we shouldn't;t have let them back in and it was the substitutions that didn't help.
I think it's fair comment. It's depressing how people just turn on individuals if something goes wrong. Zero self control. Let's get mad with somebody and lay it all them.

So it's Bruce's fault then. No one's said that yet. Does he have to go as well?

My point is that there would probably be an over reaction, and hey presto.

We're 6th ffs and playing really well. The future's bright folks!!

We are short on players who. can come into the XI and keep the quality, it showed tonight. Embleton clearly doesn't want to be here, he looked like he wanted to be anywhere other than coming on as a sub in the game on Saturday and Carey, who I hoped would be a great player for us has gone backwards. We threw that away and for me it was the lack of options on the bench and for some reason the need to sit so deep and try and see it out. We should have on it, but it isn't the end of the world, we were outstanding again first half and any other game would have been 2 or 3 up.

We just need to get to January in the top 6 and get some players in who are good enough. the 13 or 14 who are can't do it on their own.

It wasn't SB's fault, but you can't deny we have a weak squad. 13 or 14 good enough for the first XI but not the rest, shame SB wasn't manger from June, we are still living with the Critchley legacy and it is incredible how well we have done since he was potted. 13 points from 15 is great but that was 2 points thrown away.

If you don’t know we need to make some signings in January and ship out some players who’ve had lots of chances to succeed but can’t take it whilst making us weaker when coming on as sub then that’s your issue 💯👌🏼

Lots of positives, lots to buzz about but the above is just about getting us better.

That’s what we want isn’t it?

Luckily the gaffer knows it 👊🏼

Not seeing too much over-reaction to us throwing away 2pts in the last minute of stoppage time.

What do you reckon Bruce said afterwards? “Unlucky lads.” Give over.

You’re wrong anyway. Not for the first time certain players are proving they are not up to much. This is not a reaction to tonight, it’s a continuation of pîss poor form going back months. Now if you’re happy with sub-standard, that’s your prerogative.

I thought Lincoln looked a good team? They lined up 4-4-2 and made it really hard for Apter to get any space.
CJ burst through a couple of times and they then tightened that area up too.

Coulson going off was a blow, as his pace and skill was causing them problems. At half time I thought it was evenly matched and a draw was fair.

Then the red card. I knew we’d have space down the flanks yet we just couldn’t get the ball out there and once Morgan and Apter went off the drop off was shocking.

Lincoln fans pointed out pre game how quick we tire after 75 mins and it is probably more lack of squad depth than actual fitness levels.

Yes but that's not the topic of this thread. 😉

You'll always get a reaction from fans when a game ends like that. I'm bitterly disappointed that we couldn't get over the line. Some of the players really didn't handle the last 10mins well at all. Carey, Embleton and Fletcher will come in for a a bit of criticism but that's normal on a forum. Hopefully the players learn from it, we didn't lose and need to take any frustration out on Mansfield. Things are so much better than they were a few weeks ago, zero point in digging any player out too much.

The Subs played like a bunch of random strangers plucked from Common Edge.

If we have aspirations of going up this season, the subs need to slip in seamlessly. Like-for-like replacements and no significant drop in class. Or we will see quite a few more Alamo re-enactments.

We completely threw that away. The overall record of teams going down to 10 men is generally abysmal and after we have scored we showed no ambition no intention to score again and put the game to bed. We had dominated against 11 men .That defeat was entirely down to a passive unambitious gutless attitude Those players exhibited totally the wrong attitude and paid the price. We deserved to lose our lead and got all we deserved. It was down to our approach of all the players not just the subs and they sensed it and took advantage.

I have rarely if ever been so annoyed and frustrated at not winning a game because it was purely down to our attitude.I posted about it on here late in the game and subsequently the inevitable happened.

Arrrgggh!!!!

I’m not allowed to speak to away fans normally because my son thinks I’m going to get in some sort of argument with them, he couldn’t go tonight so I did and they were really nice ( I avoided the stone island pre teens)
We agreed that 1/1 was a fair result and the ones I spoke to said we are the best team they’d played
against and we’d be in the top 6 at the end of the season, all of them said our 22 was brilliant and tbh he didn’t have a great game, they were very surprised when I mentioned a lot of our fans on the forum didn’t think he was even good enough for league 2

We outplayed the team third in the league, who haven't lost away for eight months, for most of the game and should've been out of sight way before the sending off.
It was yet another really good performance for the most part. We tired, and it was gutting to concede a late goal to 10 men. But we shouldn't lose focus from what's been a fantastic effort over the last few weeks by the players to get us back up the league.
We have very questionable strength in depth, but the first team is very good and tonight shouldn't dampen anyone's positivity for this season imo.

Carey and Beesley to go in an ideal world but who’s to say there will be takers in Jan?

Embleton needs time but is not exactly setting the world alight is he? and Rhodes could be key as the season progresses, all he needs is a goal or 2 then I reckon he will bang more after more in.

This ⬆️ exactly! Well said.
Two things I learned from last night, is firstly, I realised just how much the passion has come back for our team, last season, sometimes I just couldn't be arsed, we lost, I shrugged my shoulders and forgot about it. Last night I was absolutely gutted when we conceded so late on, it seems to mean so much more again.
And secondly, we have very little strength in depth, our bench lacks any sort of quality, bar Fletcher, who I think we'll see starting sooner rather than later, we seem to have absolutely no one who we could look to, to come on a change the game. I was delighted when we resigned Rhodes but he doesn't seem to fit the current game plan. We miss Ballard alongside Joseph and I hope he's back soon.
