Nurses planning a strike

What about an increase for al the other people who have been working through keeping everything going ? It’s not all about the nurses ffs. For the record 1% is gash, 5% over three years would be fair. It’s the same old story isn’t it.

Yes indeed, as someone getting nothing for the next few years. After a decade of pay freeze. Austerity was never over for public servants, despite the claims.

Aye it's amazing during the pandemic, they were getting praised etc, but a pay rise even just above inflation can't be found as money is tight, unless its a shit track and trace system, PPE procurement through middle men or companies that Tory ministers have interests in - public money is awash then, fill your boots.
The country needs a revolution.
Think this is going to look very bad for the government. It is a real terms pay cut for the heroes of the pandemic, you know the ones who risked their lives to keep us safe.
Clap for carers, here's a pretty badge (ffs who thought of that one) but fuck off if you want a pay rise that is even inline with the rate of inflation.
They were happy to justify a middleman getting £20 million for facilitating a PPE deal and defend a £30 million contract to Matt Hancock's mate. Cummings gets a £50k pay rise etc. etc.
I know that it costs a lot but this one could get nasty, public support will be with the nurses.
Are we returning to the 70s?

With the addition of an additional 15Billion to the already given 22Billion for track and take which absolutely does not work, I have no confidence in the Government saying they cannot afford a decent rise for those who put their lives on the line. Absolutely no disrespect to those who also kept working throughout, but the death toll amongst medics was dire.

Austerity, kiss my arse, T&T has cost as much as Furlough for the first lockdown. Why are there not socially distanced riots in the streets about this present of Tax payers money to SERCO and its cronies? We get excited about Sturgeon's appalling decisions that cost £600K, yet £ thirty seven billion pounds merits hardly a mention.

I agree perhaps we could get a refund 🙄

I agree Tangerinmoss, as long as I don't have to kiss your arse!

You are truly a hate filled individual
First you smear Cat saying he isn't fit to be a teacher and now this smear.
Can you get any lower?
In fairness I have read a lot of Cats opinions on here and I would not want them teaching my lad.

I appreciate teachers are meant to keep politics out of it - but mine never did at Warbreck!!!!

Even when they were not over political, the odd comment always came out.

I am also not saying that Cats does bring it up or not - as I don’t know.

You went to Warbreck. Nuff said. 😉

That appears to be exactly what you're insinuating? Don't beat around the bush fella.

The thing is that I was confident enough that my children (when they were at school) would be able to listen to, say, a political extremist and then form their own opinion.
Are we saying that any teacher cannot have a political view of any sort in case he / she tries to influence the children and doesn't remain impartial?
This is an unrealistic position as everyone has biases of some sort.

Although I side with the NHS staff, I think they've chosen the wrong time to fight.
They will lose all the good feelings of the people if they go ahead and strike.
Normally I would have gone on the 'Picket Lines' with them.
But not at the present time.
Besides which I don't think the call will get a good response from the Nurses etc.

An interesting point, as I obviously picked out the extremists back then 👍

BORIS
to encourage new 8pm doorstep 'SLAP FOR THE NHS' and instead of using pots and pans you can use bags of 1 and 2p's for that full appreciation feeling.

Yep, I can come down to your level if you want. I don't start the threads with hate filled rants, I leave that to the likes of Cat..
Hate filled rant? Or economic analysis of the spending of £37 billion on something that doesn't work?

I think you've seen the poster and dived right in.

You're a passive aggressive little bellend aren't you?

What do you actually add to this site any more apart from odd paranoid rants? I honestly think you need some kind of intervention, you seem to get some kind of relief from attempting to bully people on here, you're a grown man by all accounts so stop acting like an angry child.
I add a lot on the football side of the forum. You should try visiting it once in a while. Meanwhile I'll just carry on winding people like you up.

You mean a poster with an extended history of having nothing positive to say.
So you think the track and trace is a great success and we should be singing its praises? Difficult to be positive about the loss of £37 billion to a private company that has never looked like delivering while paying a big dividend to its shareholders this year.

Yes, your three one line posts on this week's match thread really set the place alight.
yes, apologies for a lack of detail. Just got a new laptop on tuesday. A chromebook and getting used to it is rather difficult.Still taking a lot longer to type things out. I promise I'll try harder though.

Many things aren't a great success but as i keep pointing out the absence of certain posters on the positive threads is extremely noticeable. Why do you think that is?

Thirty seven billion. What could we have done with that?

Which positive threads do you have in mind?

I barely responded to any post of yours on the old site or here until recently, I think your memory is playing tricks.
Nope, you go back many years FY8. We've had many a long discussion over certain topics so quit your bullshit,eh!.

Everyone should get a pay rise not just one sector you can't play one against the other.
Police, Fire, Army, Teachers and any other person who works for the state will be rightly asking why not me especially as some like the Police have had a hell of time during the pandemic.

If we ain't giving it to one I'm afraid no on should be given more.

I can see one of those famous Uturn coming soon.

And how much quicker could that be with another £37 billion spent on it...
not sure they could go any quicker than they are doing. Quicker than the EU countries that's for sure.Perhaps your beloved EU might try to put another spanner in the works though.

My beloved EU? What spanner is that?

well you wanted to remain in it, so that's the first point covered and the spanner is when the EU seemingly objected to our order for the vaccines being placed 3 months before they did and made threats about blocking deliveries. Something along those lines anyway.

They clearly made more of an impression on you then.

I've never done this before but I'm just going to put you on ignore, the constant name calling (three today for a start), the self aggrandising paranoia and the bitter cul de sacs you drag yourself and others down isn't an enjoyable way to pass the time.

1. Remaining in an organisation doesnt mean they're my beloved. I was in the YHA, doesn't mean I'm besotted about stopping in dormitories.
2. Some rumour that came to nothing because there was no basis in fact.

Not like you to be so lacking in detail. If you're having a pop you've got to do a lot better than that.
