I think when this has passed and the inevitable enquiry starts- the nepotism and extreme profligacy of the T&T will be examined - fully expect those with Daily Mail/Express/Sun bent to come on here writing " let's be positive, we need to look to the future, everyone makes mistakes etc"
Most nurses I know are against striking on an ethical basis but there is anger that the government are aware of this and frankly taking the piss- there maybe some industrial action such as working too rule ,overtime ban which would cause mayhem. Most departments at the Vic are chronically understaffed which is not new and if you go to the Vic main entrance at 8pm mist nights you will see crowds of agency nurses on at least 25% a hour more than regular staff and still safe staffing levels are breached every day
Not sure if there are any quick solutions but 1% offer is an insult and hoping it is an opening gambit. Some unions are asking for 12.5 % and again that is an opening gambit. Suspect the pay review body will recommend about 3% which the government may accept
Like others thought the clap for the NHS was BS after the first time
