Nuttall

I think we’re all waiting for the Nutts to put in a man of the match performance but it’s been one hell of a wait so far. Hopefully Dunny can get the best out of him but would you start him ahead of either Gnanders and Madine or use him off the bench?

Some f you just listen to yourselves, it makes my blood boil when I keep reading this vitriol against a young footballer, our young footballer, who clearly wants to do well, yet he has already been hung, drawn and quartered and no matter what he does now you will never see any good. If you feel like that, keep it to yourselves because his confidence is shot already and as supporters we should be trying to boost his confidence.

The sad thing is this constant using him as a scapegoat could ruin a young player, you may think that’s over the top, but it’s constant. He’s barely played yet we’ve barely got 5 points in the last 12 games. What about all the other players?

Hertford well said. He’s hardly been given a chance he will come good if he’s given a constant run of games in the team.

I think we need more mobility up front, especially away from home so I would start with Nuttall and the Fonz. I agree with Herts give Nuttall a run of games.

He's 23 he's not exactly a youth player and he should of gained plenty enough experience in his career to date going Scotland and at Blackburn to make the cut at League 1 level,we'll see i'm hoping he comes good but i don't buy into all this age rubbish if your good enough it doesn't matter how old you are this is L1 football not Championship level.

Rollocks he's barely played he started games done most cup games against so called weaker opposition come on as sub and offered absolutely nothing that's not looking for a scapegoat he's been shocking and like Hardie who seems to be doing well at Plymouth should have been loaned out.

“He played ok at Ipswich and scored. Done nothing since admittedly”

He also gave away a penalty at Ipswich too!

He is due one moment of glory.

whoosh! And therein lies the problem.

I think he wants to do well, yes. Just not here. Possibly thinks he’s bigger than BFC. It’s how careers in the game can disappear completely.

I've just had a look at his appearances, and during our last 10 matches (when the bad run started at home to Shrewsbury), Nuttall has played 314 minutes of the total 900. So around a third of the time on the pitch.

Several other players have played most of those 900 minutes, and yet seem immune from criticism. Weird.

Could be a completely different player in a system that isnt defensive hoofball.

Really hoping the lad comes good, im sure he will at some point.

The thing is, they ALL should get our support, I'm not sure Grayson had the dressing room but the vibe coming out from the players now for Dunn seems very positive and he is much more upbeat than Grayson was. It doesn't hide the fact that since he was bought in as coach by Grayson the results dipped as they have, so let's see how he gets on as manager. I think we are a couple of performances off picking right up and going on a decent run, lets hope so eh?

He won't read this messageboard - wouldn't have the energy to get into position on his mobile or PC and attack the open website button.

He's not impressed so far but I desperately hope he will eventually. I do think a League 2 or Conference loan would have benefited him.

Your absolutely spot on with this, it is bullying in its worst form, if it was their kids, family or friends they’d be crying all over the place whinging about being bullied .

Crazy that people want to pick on a lad that's been used as a sub most games if at all when we're on the run we're currently on

Well promotion chances went in December so should we play him now each game until the end of the season and give him a real chance?

I wouldn't be playing him but I'm also not making him a scapegoat when there's been 11 other players on the pitch more than him every game

Let's destroy whatever confidence he has left. Let's want him to fail then we can all be smug about how right we were.
How about as supporters we try supporting ALL our players, radical i know, but it may just work.
Get off the lads back. He needs our support , he needs to play . If they have a Tangerine shirt on they need our backing.

Only a young lad who needs a run of games

Still feel he will come good

As mentioned previously a loan move In January to get his confidence up would have given him the chance to get games
He isn’t a young lad, he’s 23. When does he stop being classed as a young prospect and become a fully fledged player?

Very well said Herts and he would have never fitted in to Grayson style and tactics.
So give the lad a chance ffs.

Before Nuttall arrived I didn’t know him from a hole in the ground, I therefore had no preconceptions of his ability or lack of it. He didn’t do himself any favours by his attitude in the club video introduction, he seemed very underwhelmed to be here. That may be just the way he is, but it didn’t come across very well. Since then his performance has been mediocre at best, which coupled with the interview, didn’t go down very well as he was expected to hit the ground running. These things have conspired against him. He may be a good player in the right formation unfortunately Grayson wasn’t playing that way. But in his determination to prove it was money well spent he persisted with Nuttall in the wrong way. This probably turned the doubters completely against him. As has been said Grayson should have loaned him out away from the toxic atmosphere and hopefully return a more complete player and prove the doubters wrong.

I’ve been more concerned by his poor attitude, than the lack of goals or overall contribution.
It’s almost like a clean slate now Grayson has gone.
Will be interesting to see how he gets on now under a new / temp manager

I've not said that, I've said there are some who have made their minds up and no matter what he does they are going to be on his back, slagging him off, if you can't see that then you can't see. I'm far from alone either, am I?

Made their own minds up at what exactly talk about defending the indefensible.
It's OK to start threads about Turton and Spearing today saying they have been a bit crap but Nuts you can't because he's a young man so are the other flaming two.

Herts you aren`t half posting a stream of rubbish on here.

Grayson made Nuttall his big signing and because of that gave him more game time than his persistently poor performances and unimpressive attitude deserved and he consistently failed to convince.

To describe comments on here by fans as bullying is truly pathetic, he is 23, a big boy,and has so far been a complete flop and that`s the simple truth. We use this board to express our views on players good or bad. That`s what it`s for.

I've never said bullying! I don't like any of our players being continually slagged off. I don't rate one of our players at all, but I don't say anything on here, what good would it do? The vitriol against Nuttall is not the odd post, it's relentless. If you think that's rubbish then that's your opinion.

This is a forum to enable fans to express their opinion about the players but criticism of poor performances is strictly forbidden because it might upset the little dears.

Fans comment on the performances good or bad bad.Nuttall has been consistently poor hence the comments about him have consistently matched his performances.

It may well be that part of Sadler`s disillusionment with Grayson apart from the poor football and dismal results was due to the amount money Nuttall cost and the negligible return he has had for the money he invested in him.
