O/T Blackadder

The series where they're based in the WW1 trenches is pure comedy gold and the funniest thing ever on TV.

They all nail their characters, but Stephen Fry's General Melched is hilarious. 😂
 
Blackadder 2 was, and still is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.

Of course Rowan Atkinson was genius, as was Stephen Fry and Tony Robinson. But Miranda Richardson was a different class as the Queen.
 
Forgot how good that was, fantastic, WW1 one was the best imo but laughed all the way through that tonight! 👏👏

My favourite memory of her was as the nurse in Blackadder goes Forth.
Scene: Blackadder in bed with nurse shortly after having sex. They are smoking.
Nurse: "I didn't know you smoked."
Blackadder: "only after making love. I'm a 20 a day man"
 
'Let me put it another way Bob. You are a girl. And you're a girl with as much talent for disguise as a giraffe in dark glasses trying to get into a polar bears only golf club.'

I think the one she's in in the 4th series is probably my favourite episode of all.

"It’s the worst plan since Abraham Lincoln said, ‘Oh I’m sick of kicking around the house tonight. Let’s go take in a show.’ General Melchett is in mourning for the woman of his dreams. He’s unlikely to be in the mood to marry a two legged badger wrapped in a curtain. Anyway we are looking for a great entertainer and you’re the worst entertainer since St. Paul the Evangelist toured Palestine with his trampoline act."
