O/T Christmas this year?

I've been thinking about all the controversy surrounding this Christmas, and the 'Lockdown' being lifted.
Simple thought .
Surely for many, including me, it would be better to miss this Christmas, rather than never seeing another one?

There has been "bubbles" allowed for months, more than flexible enough for families to meet up over the festive period.

What seems to have gone out of the window months ago is common sense and acting responsibly; Christmas will amplify this.

Still makes me chuckle about the time you told us all about the Christmas Mrs DP’s oldest friend came to stay and how early all three of you had gone to bed!!

It's economic - Gov't shit scared people won't bother as much and spending drops massively.

Dave, even if they relax things a bit for Xmas it is very much for individuals and their families to assess the risk. No one is being forced to mix and we will certainly be careful in our family, as we have been throughout the pandemic.
Unfortunately, some of those who shouldn't really be mixing will do so whatever the the rules.

It's one day FFS, and a very much anticlimatic. Come 6 o clock xmas day is all over. All that expense and planning for what? *rolls eyes*
