Jeez - if Mrs Brown's Boys wasn't bad enough, they stick Villa v Palace on for Boxing Day .. talk about the Xmas leftovers ☹️

The BBC live games are not going to be the main attraction from that week ends fixtures. This game isn’t such a bad one in that (those of us that don’t have Sky or BT) we get to see Grealish who is at the top of his game and a Villa side that is quite entertaining to watch at the moment.

When I was a kid couldn't wait to see the Xmas Radio and TV Times to see if Thunderbirds was on each morning......and it was.

Along with the film Jason and the Argonauts.
Sit with the Xmas Radio and TV times the day it came out and circle EVERYTHING that you wanted to watch throughout the holiday period.
Happy days 😁

....Oh and be gutted when programs clashed. The agony of only being able to watch one thing whilst recording one other.
Even then , our Betamax video was wonky and would always somehow miss the first 10 minutes or so when on timer.

With so many channels to pick from I’ll always find something to watch but let me guess - BBC 1 will be offering a Christmas Day of Come Dancing, Doctor Who, Call The Midwife and Mrs Browns Boys?

Just for the 127th year running.......

Dr Who has been shunted out to New Year's Day.

When Jason and the Argonauts was on that was me well sorted for the morning. I particularly liked the bronze warriors that came to life to defend the treasure on their island.

Here's a favourite trivia question of mine on Xmas TV.

Christmas Day evening 1977 became known as the night ITV packed up and went home. The BBC broadcast three consecutive programmes each watched by over 26m, peaking at around 28.5m.

What were the three? Bonus point for the correct order.

Morecambe and Wise would be one

The Generation Game.
Edit: I'll stick my neck out and say,
The Generation Game
The Good Life
Morecambe & Wise

Usually we never turn TV on Xmas Day but just the two of us this year - think we’ll be fighting over the washing up, let alone the remote control!

Won’t have BBC or the mainstream terrestrial stations on. When I think back Christmas TV was really good but now all TV has gone West.

Darts World championship and football that's me sorted every Christmas the misses can watch the shite like Mrs Brown.

couldnt wait to see what films where on now with sky netflix amazon etc there is no excitement of xmas tv its all the same crap we will be playing games with the grandkids more fun

As there was no electricity in our house, we didn’t have a tv until we moved when I was 14. Those switches on the wall were definitely novel, as was the bathroom, never knew they existed.

Then of course the bloody tv kept going off, or the picture rollling. You had to constantly twiddle the horizontal hold, or vertical hold knobs. Happy days.

Chin up, this time next year you could be looking forward to watching Trump TV on Christmas Day, assuming he's not in prison of course.
