Could the Electron load the greatest game ever made? Talking ELITE here, complete with smuggling, space pirates and buying extra shields and missiles after docking with a spinning hexagon manually because you could never afford the auto-dock - sod it, I’m off to fire up the old BEEB B the b&w telly and ... bloody hell, anyone got a cassette player?Could never afford a BBC Micro....had to settle for an Acorn Electron.

My mate blew up his Spectrum 48K after pouring water on the rubber buttons in an attempt to reduce friction to make faster times on Daley Thompson's Decathlon. Some great computer games for the time they were made, broke a few joysticks playing Daley Thompson decathlon.
Couple of old favourites Manic Miner, Jet Set Willy, Sensible Soccer, Kick off soccer, Championship manager 93.
Loading a game what seemed hours then crashing after 10 minutes, also having to go round your mates to play on the computer rather than online. kids wont get that.
Only if you were driving! I had the onorous task of pressing fire every few minutes.Yep same as TangerineSeasider - loading games from an old cassettte tape. I had one on my Commodore 64 that took nearly 15 minutes to load. You’d wait that long then find out it hadn’t loaded and you had to start all over again. The joys of playing Siren City though eventually outweighed the frustration.
I play piano and had a very quick, but soft, index and middle finger alternating technique that used to wind my mate up something rotten who was furiously bashing away at those rubbery keys to within an inch of their life. Ha ha ha.My mate blew up his Spectrum 48K after pouring water on the rubber buttons in an attempt to reduce friction to make faster times on Daley Thompson's Decathlon.
That used to piss me off, these days with LED lights I'm approximately 90% less pissed off.My kids are grown up now but when they were younger invariably I got home and every light in the house was on.

LegendaryMost popular kid at school was the one whose dad had tape to tape HiFI. Also copying colour codes for Jetset Willy!
