Anyone going, who we looking forward to seeing, Glasto memories etc. Didn't get a ticket this year which I was gutted about but one of the highlights of the year for me and will be rooted to my TV for much of the weekend (thank God for the BBC!).

Wonder how many staff the BBC are taking this year on the publics billet? Seem to remember one year they needed more than 300 employees which was more than they took to The World Cup in the same year...

Last visit was 1999, glorious sunshine all the weekend 🌞

Tickets were only £80, headliners were R.E.M - Manic street preachers - Skunk Anansie.

I've been 4 times, and always climbed over the fence which was a challenge at 2am, completely wasted with a tent, beer and backpack.

One year it was raining, it got so muddy it was about 2 ft deep and my mate brought a kids play tent to sleep in. Oh to be 25 again eh?

It’s not overpriced at all. It’s actually a bargain and you can take anything anywhere within the festival unlike 99% of other festivals.

I normally go but not this year.

Hate it. What started out as a free gig in a field in Somerset for hippies has now turned into an overpriced package holiday for mainly middle class tossers who wander round in their wellies pretending to know who's playing.

It's never been free, even the first one was a quid. I would guess that's about £15 now with inflation, still not bad I guess.

When did you last go? I ask as I genuinely think it's better now that it was years ago when I started going - there's a trade-off in a loss of some of that chaotic 'edgyness' but also there's a lot less chance of getting mugged compared to the pre-fence days. It's a lot of money but still great value and live music is expensive these days - you'd have paid £80 minimum to have seen Diana Ross on her own last night. I'm sure there are some middle class tossers there but I never seem to run into them.

We're aren't there this year but I wish we were - as always there's not too much on the main stages I'd be interested in, but the smaller ones are packed with gems for me - loads I'd love to see at the Sonic, Arcadia, Stonebridge, Wow, Truth, Gas Tower stages etc, none of which you'll see on the BBC. A lot of people that seem to dislike it base their opinions on the TV coverage which doesn't really scratch the surface.

Twice and never paid, once we parked up, walked miles to suss it out, nicked in went out again got all our gear and nicked back in again, but slung the sack of firewood as nobody could be arsed carrying it, top days.

That's the spirit!
My only issue with the BBC is the relatively small amount of coverage, with all the staff they have on site they could have a couple of pop up channels on the red button and show a lot of bands live.

Also I blame the BBC for all these trendy Hunter wearing nobs calling the festival "Glasto"

So jealous looking at the pics this morning! I had 6 devices going when the tickets were released and didn't even get a sniff. Bloody gorgeous weather as well.

Looking at who's on on what day, Friday for me is the best day by miles and if I was there I would be all over the place watching bands. Saturday I'd probably just chill as it's a bit naff and Sunday is meh

Glastonbury is always good for us old timers to give us a chance to see some of the newer acts that are on earlier I the day.

And also Lauren bloody Laverne.

You do know they film loads of the gigs. It's not one person running around with a mobile phone.

Yep got my big tv hooked up to my high end hifi system..🤣..beers/wine/toilet all easily accessible, also can switch between stages with ease if it’s stuff I dislike…👍

Not for me, no en suite and all that popping and snorting going on night and day 🫤

I'd have to go VIP and probably have a fight with Noel Gallagher telling him 'It's my XXXXXX room, you can XXXX off to Knebworth', hoping of course his food and beer order had been delivered in advance, and Patsy Kensit (frozen in time, but defrosted).

So why get involved Mates it way way bigger than just a POP concert with around 100 stages with every style of music including cinema, comedians, theatre a fairground kids play areas it's huge.
My point was how the media virtually have orgasms trying to look as if they absolutely love it and probably few of them would ever get down and dirty in a tent.

Good luck and enjoy those who are there and even tune in to the coverage but personally won’t bother watching any of it.No interest whatsoever.

I love glastonbury but the line up this year is shite gonna give it miss
But the crew who have gone enjoy

The line up is shite.......🤔
Wolf Alice, Crowded House, Rufus Wainwright, Kendrick Lamar, St, Vincent, Glass Animals, Lianne La Havas, Bonobo, Leon Bridges, Celeste, Snarky Puppy, Primal Scream, Jesus & Mary Chain, Four Tet, Arlo Parks, The Avalanches, Big Thief, Brian Kennedy, Hot House Flowers, Damien Dempsey, Lamb & The Dualers........and that's just the middle of the road stuff.........

Every DJ who could attract a 3,000+ crowd is playing....Chemical Brothers, Camelphat, Carl Cox, Sasha, Gorgon City, Groove Armada, Jon Digweed & System 7.......and about 30 more

I do perhaps 40 - 45 gigs or festivals a year, not Glastonbury, it'd be my idea of hell, small festivals 500 people max usually n I know a lot of the musicians n festi organisers. Jess Silk, who I've been watchin since she was an unknown 20 year old, she's now 26 and has become a good mate, has been invited to play Glastonbury Left Field this Saturday, she got a personal invite off Billy Bragg and was buzzin. For anybody who loves their music and politics Jess Silk is an absolute must, the modern day Billy Bragg, a superb singer songwriter rising star av a listen if you like your music with a political/ethical message. She also playing Compass Cafe in Blackpool on 21st October, if it's not already sold out.

think you might of got the Gallagher brothers confused...?

Fortunately having done many festivals I can safely say I never went to Glastonbury with all it’s Richard Branson type connotations. I nearly gave up altogether when new order graced it and gave it their age of consent
