Despite living in Blackpool for nearly all my life, I have never set foot in the place.

That was until yesterday, when I was walking past and decided to pop in.

I had a sundae because they only do vanilla ice cream but there was only vanilla ice cream in my sundae, I should have been able to work that one out but the fresh cream and the rest more than made up for it and I was very impressed.

The chap who owns/runs it posts on Twitter and supports the Mighty, when we were protesting he arranged for ice cream to be sold at the ground and donated all the proceeds to BST which I thought was a very good gesture and I should have supported his shop before now.

All young staff very polite and helpful and I would strongly recommend - saying that I'm probably the only fecker who's never been.

Without wishing to sound like the fat takeaway chap, it's a solid nine from me.

Nothing wrong with being a fat takeaway chap !! I live a 2 minute walk away from the Wallings Ice Cream parlour in Lancaster and whilst they’re very good Notrianni’s is way better.

After renewing season tickets yesterday I popped into Notariannis for probably the first time in 50 years. It certainly will not be a 50 year wait again and not just because I don't fancy my chances of making 115.

Notiaranni's owes me an ice cream for beating me on the bids to the 1988 Blackpool home shirt on eBay.

to be honest it should be the seller of the shirt who should be buying you an ice cream for inflating the price of said shirt!

Just looked on ebay and somebody is after a bag of sand for a match worn Vaux shirt as sported by Dave Bamber/Mark Taylor if that interests you...

I think there's a 1962/67 match Issue Blackpool home kit on eBay for £1499 also.

I don't get anyone who says Wallings isn't better. Absolutely tonnes of flavours, plus the indoor cafe does all sorts of other things. Their ice cream is beautiful.

Notrianni's is just vanilla ice cream with sauces on. I find it very overratted but each to their own.

Do you remember when they started out ? serving you through a small hatch over the road .
The ice creams were massive .🍦
Obviously I am talking about the original Wallings at Cockerham, edited

I agree. Wallings is missing something (as nice as it is and the huge sizes they hand out). Bonds is nicer tasting than Wallings but Notriani's wins hands down IMO.

It depends on what you want. For a refreshing ice cream on a hot day there’s somethings about getting a Notrianni’s and being right on the seafront that is just so much better. The Wallings flavours are brilliant though and the Cafe is lovely - but only if you get there midweek out of the summer holidays or else it’s just utter chaos.

Never been a huge fan of Walings and Bonds are now just selling Lakes Ice Cream rather than making their own.

Mrs Dowson's on the A59 was always my favourite until I encountered the aforementioned Brooks Gelato.

Further afield, Buttermere Ayrshires in the Lake District is far and away the best but Bar Vivoli in Florence runs them close

If you are going to start a thread on Notarianni's, at least spell it right!😆

Beautiful Vanilla ice cream with a unique taste and texture...

Been a family treat in our household for four generations!

How do you pronounce it? My dad used to say “Nol-tur-annies,” but there’s no L so he’s clearly wrong

Only Philistines sauce their Notriannis…said the actress to the bishop.

I agree it is absolute chaos on a warm weekend

If you’re up Wallings way on a warm weekend drive on up to Lancaster Leisure Park (behind Williamson park and the Ashton Memorial) there’s a Wallings parlour there (ice cream only) but you also have the antique centre, Lancaster brewery and a few small shops to waste time in - never really any queues either even on the nicest day plus there’s a massive beer garden with fresh stone baked pizzas at the brewery

Sorry Satriale, I was going to put (sic) after the name but thought it looked near enough.

I will know for next time.
