Yeah South Shore is definitely the best place to grow up in unless you were lucky enough to grow up in North Shore.😜

11. Airport that was !

It's a thumbs up from me☺
Worked in the Highfield Social, played for Foxall, started my nights out at the Farmers and stopped off at the Armenian on the way back☺
More for the list is the Beach and sand dunes, Halfway House, Chinese take away on Abbey Rd and the old boat club at Star Gate👍

Blackpool Centre (Fleet Street).
Fantastic during the War (WW2 just in case anyone takes the P). All the RAF people were lodged in the streets around there. Always something happening.
Also an easy walk to Bloomfield Rd. 😜

Great place, the Highfield, Farmers and Dunes, chips from the Trawler or Harrys (god that guy took some shit). Andrews bakery and Highfield youth club twice per week. Whats not to like.

Steve was Roy's elder brother.
They were both really good at football, it was in their genes so to speak.

I left highfield in '80 Andover👍

Harry's chippy opposite the Highfield pub👍
It was a toss up which building Harry used to be most , the chippy or the pub!!
Sad when he died but not a surprise.
His wife lives across the road from me now👍

North (probably more Central) then South in my youth as the new boards diversity champion can I suggest that we call it a draw folks and say that Blackpool as a town is the winner ?

Still never had a Notariannis.

Every fecker raves about them to be fair but they only do vanilla, what's all that about ?

Actually just grew up in Marton a stone's throw from South Shore, we live in SS now & I'm happy there. Left Highfield in 75 also went to the youth club. Circa 1976 it was the Dunes then Farmers for a swift half (quick pint as it was a bit dated in those days) & to the Winmarith (Burlington/Spen Dyke) which was the place to go then. Quite often finishing up at the Paramount on Highfield Rd. We are still not short of places to go Highfield Rd walking distance with some bars & decent restaurants (Itallio, San Marcos) Seem to be using the prom & the fantastic beach at Starr Gate since dog arrived in October. There are lots of good places to live in the UK but I think you forget what Blackpool & SS have to offer. Bloomfield rd 20 minutes walk away, went to see a few of the better localish bands at the Highfield club (made us feel young) I think time has stood still there 😂

Grew up there in the 90’s.
Back then I’d add the Pool Hall, Lucky Star and Tandoori Express 👍
There was also a pizza shop across from the Waterloo pub which was amazing 😋

Old bugger 😉

Used to like the Albert next to the library back before it’s Sportsbar makeover. And the snooker hall above Lennons or whatever it was called

My patch was the corner of Waterloo Rd and St Heliers Rd. My mum and dad owned Rikkis Cafe there from 1970 to 1996. Early 70s away fans such as Leeds and Chelsea were police escorted past our cafe from Blackpool South train station....very character building 😬

Nah. Layton has to be the best.
Kingscote Park
Westcliffe drive shops
Layton Institute
Plenty of punch ups with Grange Park kin 😂
The list is endless!!
Absolutely and Layton didn't thieve a football club from the local community either.
Add in Mr Nitros, the historic Hoohill kilns and Onslow Road chippy and its game over.

Layton hasn't set up a pretentious middle class Tory voting suburb either, like South Shore has with Squires Gate.

There'll be having their brunch with croissants and a latte, reading the Telegraph and skyping with BRR right now (rolls eyes)
