O/t Things you love/hate about the new forum

So many things I really like. Great to see how many users are on the site (reminds you you’re not posting to no one), love the ability to message other users (have done so and already reacquainted myself with an old mate), not used blocking or follow yet (what does follow mean). The phone experience is 100% better!!

Would like a better button to return to the main message board, maybe black writing rather than tangerine and will we be able to see the Prediction League etc in the future?

Overall well done AVFTT - what we’ve been waiting for!!
 
It's great. Being able to do proper replies is cool as the old forum got confusing when there was 3 conversations going on and you'd be guaranteed someone would take offence at an insult aimed at someone else etc...
 
Like you can see when replies are being added to a thread as you’re typing your reply 👍 Just a much better forum especially on a phone (not seen it on a laptop yet!).
 
The ability to post non abhorrent views without facing frivolous accusations of racism is certainly a good thing. Not spent enough time on here yet so couldn't offer an informed opinion on the pros and cons of the old and new sites.
 
I'm hoping in time that we'll get sub-forums for off-topic posts, so all the politicos/brexiteers/remainers can talk to each other without polluting the football forum.

But having been conditioned by the old forum, and knowing how stubborn AVFTT'ers are, it may not happen.
 
Grumpy - other sites have tried sub forums and they just seem to die. Am going to try out the block button and see if that eradicates all the politics (although I doubt they’ll have much to talk about this year now!).

Never again will I have to endure any propaganda releases from the StAlbans locality! Hooray!
 
There should be less spats as a result as some people just seem to rub others up the wrong way and tbf, on the old forum, there's nowt they can do about it.

I shall look forward to grandiose announcements of who has who on ignore...

Better not make racist posts and you won’t get pulled up on it. Same rules apply here pal.
 
I think the best solution would to be have a few skin options for users. Tangerine is fine for me to read on my phone and PC but can see why for others it wouldn’t be. Is that an option?
 
Agree that the default text colour isn't the easiest to read - black would be better, and there would still be plenty of tangerine around the site.

I assume Dave like me wants everyone in black text with the choice to change it.
Colour blind like me(and old) are having a nightmare with the text...

Don’t like it, why when tech people make changes, do they always have to make it more complicated. Same at work, every time something is replaced, it’s more complicated. Keep it simple for God’s sake.

Nothing wrong with the old site, opened it up and there were all the posts.

Please be as kind as to point to any racist post that I have made or stop making inferences that I have made a racist post.

Is there not a box you tick to keep logged in just like on the old site?

Also once on the homepage you click the avftt forum bit and theres all the posts so not sure how that's complicated.

Yes theres more that you can do but no one has to do any if it.
 
First time posting on the new site - I'll get used to it no doubt but looks to busy to me, to many options, I like the simplicity of the old site

I have never made racist posts and you know it.

Perhaps I might react differently to your goodself to posts made by other members but I have never made a racist post on AVFTT or any other forum.

You highlight a racist post that I have made and I'll never post on here again.

I'd rather get on with you and move forward Kurt but I am not going to let you or anybody else call me a racist without justification.

I'd rather move on, there is no need for anything on here to have a racist angle.
