Obviously happy

I don't think Sunderland Hull or Peteborough are that good. So the poor start and then the recent draws are a frustration.

On our day I think we're definitely one of, if not the best side in the league.
A sensible reply Kurt. We can see that there’s quality in the squad and we’ve regularly beaten the top 6 teams. So draws at mid or lower table sides are a massive frustration and it’s hard not to think what might have been.

Nowt like looking backwards is there. Just concentrate on the here and now ffs, we’re nearly in the POs. Believe.

But today’s win and it’s influence further up the table doesn’t half make the recent draws even more frustrating.

Just look at what you could have won...
I'm of the opinion that the two draws have actually taken the pressure off. Rather than being disappointed about being in the playoffs and missing automatic, the likelihood is that we've had a bit of a blip and are now good to go. Compare and contrast with Sunderland...

🙄 .... i’ve just worked out that if we’d won every game this season, we’d be up by now.

Stupid feckin post - not the only one today
Why’s it a stupid post? OP is happy as we all are with today's result and the league position, but if part of your brain doesn’t look at the draws we unnecessarily had and think what could have been, then you’re the feckin’ idiot. It doesn’t mean you’re a manic depressive, it just means that you recognise our team are one of the best two or three in the league and automatic would have been realistically in reach.

Big push for Rochdale and Shrewsbury and the Sunderland game probably won't matter.

As odd as it sounds we'll need a defeat at some point.

There is that...Of course if I was being really negative I would be saying those draws show that we’re not good enough.

It will happen and someone will say we need 80 points for a playoff place or some such equally ridiculous statement.
Logic says the po's are just about there. It would take a Devo....downturn in form, which I don't see coming.

That said, we were second best today pretty much all over the island.

Just treat 'Dale like a cup final and go hell for leather- that just means win by however necessary. Then on to Saturday and the same applies.

I think we'll lose at Sunderland. But of course their auto chances may be gone by then and a different mindset plays.

That we are even in this position is incredible. I'll hold my hand up willingly.

I tend to believe that you end up where you deserve to be so as long as we end up in play offs I will be happy

I honestly don't now find it frustrating those games we've drawn (I did at the time though) - ordinarily you might expect to get those draws (or losses) against the better sides, but we've just done it the other way around that's all. It's a bit odd, but not frustrating to me, accounting for the fact that you're exceptionally unlikely to win 16 games in a row.

The only frustrating thing about this season is the poor start we made, the rest of it has mostly been superb. I hope the home draws against the so called poorer sides doesn't take anything away from the effort these players have put in over the last few months. Unbeaten runs as long as ours are quite rare in football because they take a certain level of consistent determination that most teams lack.

Also worth noting, as well as the overall run, that's also 16 games unbeaten at home stretching back to October.

Is that three defeats on the roll for the Mackems?
Do you think they’ll happy to see us again so soon? (Mind you...)
On the other, 16 games unbeaten. Uncharted territory for Blackpool fans. As said before, nothing to fear but ourselves.

It is what it is, we are where we are and all that.
No point looking back with ‘if only’s.’

We needed that time at the start of the season to find our best team and bed players in and to help us gel.
Why not look at where we are now as a positive and realise it could have actually been worse if it wasn’t for our improved form in the latter half of the season 👍

Yeah its a shame as we deserved more and should have won ganes against Fleetwood, Wimbledon, Lincoln etc.

But looking at Peterborough remaining games it won't happen but they are very tough and could seemingly lose all of them, they won't do, but its a tough run in.

They are at home to Gillingham, away at Charlton, home to Donny, home to Lincoln, away to Donny.

We have a few games agasint sides near the bottom, we say never easy but they are down their for a reason.

Maybe the fact we signed virtually an entirely new squad and the first eleven now is different and more settled than the start of the season.
Imagine being on a 16 game unbeaten run and having CJ, Madine, Anderson, Stewart fit all season and busting a get to get in.
Shit happens and no matter how this season ends, we're a year down the line if we keep the squad together.

I've got an increasing feeling that Lincoln (even if they don't make it either, but they've always been up there) are going to prove to be our kryptonite at the end of this season. But also that we'll hopefully take lessons from how they recruited for what they wanted to do this year and increase that level of determination and focus to get things right. The importance of being ready from the start to make your resources work properly.
Nobody will want to play us in the play offs, including Lincoln. Especially if we have 3 more top players to rejoin us for them.

We might be a small club from the seaside but we do have both past and recent history of success - I'm not sure we should be calling a historically 4th division team from the sticks our "kryptonite" because I strongly believe we have a better side / squad.

We might have but in the head to head (so far) this season on the pitch they've found a way to end up as the stronger team and got the result that they wanted out of the games in those moments. And we haven't. Past and recent counts for nothing when you meet your match in the present.

We are 1 point behind them after a terrible start to the season. We absolutely chucked it against them in the last game after battering them for 70 minutes.

Hardly Kryptonite and they won't be pleased to see us again this season.

Thought exactly the same when I looked at the table. We’ve dropped some daft points at home, but I’ve always thought we would be better against teams who would come at us and attack, when teams sit back we struggle.

The next two games are massive, we were so poor at Shrewsbury so let’s see how we do. We need Anderson and Madine back, just to give us options off the bench, the subs yesterday highlighted how short we are attacking wise. It’s fine when we need to shore things up, but if it’s like Tuesday when we need a winner, it leaves us lacking. It would be nice to be a couple of goals up in a game and get Holmes some experience, don’t think he’ll feature as they haven’t used him yet but great for him and us possibly next season and more, because he obviously can score goals,

To sum up, with the injuries we have, we are doing brilliant and after the start we had I have every faith in Critchley and the coaching team.

Just a travesty we aren’t in the ground to enjoy it and to show the squad how much we are loving it.
