He had that strength and pace, could go on those winding runs.
Defensively he had pace to get back in league 1, will be harder in the championship.
But he did also at times get a bit found out and was part of a defence that conceded a lot of goals. Stockport away comes to mind where he had a stinker and struggled with direct balls up to a strong striker.
Don't get me wrong in league 1 he'd have been an ambitious and good signing, with potential.
If you compare him to Lyons it's a case of different strengths, Lyons looked very good at times in the championship. Can score goals, assists. Not maybe as fast or as strong though.
I asked ai to analyse the stats for andy since he's been here vs offiah, also just league 1 comparison, and this was the conclusion...
"Andy Lyons is the better player on a per-game basis since joining Blackpool, driven by his superior goal involvement (0.24 vs. 0.05–0.08 per 90 overall, 0.19 vs. 0.05 in League One) and defensive discipline, despite a higher goals conceded rate (1.25 vs. 0.93 per 90 overall, 1.05 vs. 0.93 in League One). Odel Offiah was more reliable in 2024/25, with better defensive metrics and unmatched consistency, but Lyons’ versatility, attacking flair, and potential make him the stronger long-term option if he maintains fitness."
