Ian Anderson isn't a sand grown 'un at all. He was born in Dunfermline, moved to Edinburgh as child and didn't move to Blackpool until he was 11 years old. It's a Jethro Tull song, written by Ian Anderson who was a genuine sand grown 'un. It was on their seminal album 'Living In The Past' released in 1971.
What a great video. Great work behind enemy lines.
I've been up the 'Pool.Thank you. It was on Living In The Past, although I'll accept it was originally released on an EP. BTW, where've you been since July?
I was in the dodgy plumbers stand that day. What a great video. Great work behind enemy lines.
Outside Coral Island looking towards the Prom, with Central Drive behind you.Can any of you older gits than me place this location in 1970 vs Dirty Leeds?
I got nicked on there the next time we played the murderers, the season after that incident, and I believe it was behind what is Sealife when being built.New Bonny St
Thought Coral Island was built in 1972Can any of you older gits than me place this location in 1970 vs Dirty Leeds?
Nah it’s not the seventies there’s a ford sierra in the picture must be post 82Can any of you older gits than me place this location in 1970 vs Dirty Leeds?
Had a quick look online and it's down as opening in 1978, thought it was earlier than that.Think Coral Island was built in 1976/77
That was easter Monday 1986 wigan v leeds fans kicking off outside shades nightclub. then blackpool fans coming back from playing bolton away jumped out the Luton vans and joined the fun Max smith Andy smith brother broke his ankle jumping over the wall on central drive. Can any of you older gits than me place this location in 1970 vs Dirty Leeds?
I'd think post-WW2. We played in tangerine , briefly, in the 20s but not again until after the War. Also, I don't think the kop was enlarged to its full size until after the war. I'm happy to be wrong, of course.Bloomfield road probably 1930's Picture enhanced.
Could be right there. i was looking at old kits from the 1930's to the 40's the original picture the players kits were just black and white. Blackpool did play in a stripy top in them days so could be them in black and white happy to be corrected.I'd think post-WW2. Is there a Blackpool player there not in white shorts like his colleaguesBloomfield road probably 1930's Picture enhanced.
Thanks for correcting me i wasn't sure tbhBlackpool are in the stripes here as we played in the dark and light blue stripes at home back then.

I worked there in the summer of 77, IIRCHad a quick look online and it's down as opening in 1978, thought it was earlier than that.
It looks good enhanced but as already said Pool are in the stripes and I'm sure the opponents wouldn't be in Tangerine. The original was on here quite a while back and as pointed out the missing arc on the penalty area and the kit, as worn by Jimmy Hampson was the two shades of blue stripes dates it to circa 1935.Bloomfield road probably 1930's Picture enhanced.
Is that Jimmy Hampson central, nearest the keeper?Blackpool are in the stripes here as we played in the dark and light blue stripes at home back then.

Yes , a couple of years ago. I think it was established that the photo is from the Bpool v PNE game played on 26 Aug 1933. It showsI think we've seen this picture before. There is no arc on the edge of the penalty area. I looked it up and that was introduced in 1937, so it pre-dates that.
Thanks for clearing that up. i wasn't sure of the kits i did try to research them in the 1930's.It looks good enhanced but as already said Pool are in the stripes and I'm sure the opponents wouldn't be in Tangerine.
