Ruled off by VAR as offside....great photo by the way....
I stood right there next to the photographer when that was taken - he then shared it with me and somehow it ended up in the press
Brilliant pic that oop. Any idea of the year. I'm guessing 30's with blackpool in blue stripes?
I think it was 35/36 Season, could be Jimmy Hampson the scorer.Brilliant pic that oop. Any idea of the year. I'm guessing 30's with blackpool in blue stripes?
Certainly packed them in.
That could well be right. There's no arc on the edge of the penalty area. That was introduced in 1937 apparently.I think it was 35/36 Season, could be Jimmy Hampson the scorer.

"Could be Jimmy Hampson the scorer".
That's the most calculated guess ever
Macs, I collected every programme and all the relevant Green Finals for the 1952/3 season. I started my National Service in September of 1953.So my missus worked for an auctioneer a good few years ago. I attended and a box of old Blackpool programmes went unsold. At the end I told him I was a Pool fan and he said to just take them. And so I did and they've just sat in a box in a cupboard. Home and away from approx 1967 to about 1975. Whoever owned them was particular and coded them. I've opened the box today and for the first time have had a good root. I'll post some pics. Jog memories for some of you I'm sure.

I've got this too. Nice bookThis book from 1987 was by Ellis Tomlinson a French and Latin teacher and heraldry expert from Baines GS. 'Tos' was also actively involved in school football and cricket across the Fylde. I will select a few pictures from the book. View attachment 2862

I came home on leave from Germany sometime in 1954. I went to the drawer where I kept all my Pool memorabilia, opened it, it was empty.
I said to my mother, 'Where is all my football stuff, programmes etc'. She replied, 'Oh, I thought you wouldn't want them now so I threw them away.'
I was apoplectic, but had to accept it.
The worst part was that my mother was a Pool STH.

Yep, played in the same team as him too. He was just starting out in mens football, I was coming to the end of it.I played a few games for Foxhall Boys U14s with John Armfield between the sticks. What a honour to play in the same team as an Armfield.
