Wow, for someone who left the country a while back this thread has sure brought up a lot of memories—and made me awful homesick for the Pool. Thanks to everyone who shared pics and memories!
Never heard of her until I saw the pic .I bet she was popular with the lads.
She was only 34 when she died.
Her sister was Mumsy on The Crystal Maze when Richard O'Brien did it, giving out the cryptic cluesI bet she was popular with the lads.

Good singer Alma Cogan. Very 1950s and sort of faded when The Beatles took hold. Except she didn't quite fade with one of the fabs...did she Johnny?Never heard of her until I saw the pic .
I remember when we played Chelsea in the old 2nd division, their fans paid to get in our side (or climbed over the divide at the back of the Kop) and were stood about where this pic was taken......I don't think they stayed there too long from memory as were rather cornered....Another one nicked off Facebook, a great view looking down from the top of The Spion Kop. I got a coin on the head at that game. Got lead to the St John's Ambulance bloke with my scarf tied round my head to stop the blood. Enjoyed all the fuss while pretending to be hard (at 14).I remember when we played Chelsea in the old 2nd division, their fans paid to get in our side (or climbed over the divide at the back of the Kop) and were stood about where this pic was taken......I don't think they stayed there too long from memory as were rather cornered....
The first thing I saw as I came through the entrance at the top was Chelsea giving it large in that back corner...... I don't remember much about it (other than they were there!) as it seemed to dissipate quickly afterwards. I think I was 14 or 15 myself at that game.I got a coin on the head at that game. Categorically not Sudds. Correct BoFI am surprised we are still discussing this, that photo you put up is 100% not Alan Suddick, google “ images Alan Suddick Newcastle United “ and check it out for yourself. Suddick always had a flat hairstyle and his face looks nothing like this player. Suddick was a hero of mine frm Dec 1966 when I went to all the Blackpool home and away games well into the 1970s and I spent hours at the Squires Gate training ground, Suddick’s memory is indelibly printed on my brain. Don’t wait for Newcastle fans, you can also check out images of Suddick when he joined Pool in 1966, it was only just over a year after this Newcastle photo was taken.
Dont be homesick mate, the Blackpool you remember has gone felt same way until i got back, good luck, stay away.Wow, for someone who left the country a while back this thread has sure brought up a lot of memories—and made me awful homesick for the Pool. If memory serves me right…I think it was his 600th appearance. Why would Jimmy Armfield have a Guard of Honour in the home game against WBA, it wasn’t the first home game of the season.
I went to his testimonial match which was after his sacking. Shame only 9,000 turned up but Stoke City were not the most attractive opponents i guess. Morty came on for a short cameo appearance in the second half. I think he scored from close range. Must have been 68/69 season. This was when Morty got sacked about 1968 outside the players entrance ,sorry I have'nt got one with Grayson.View attachment 306
I went too. Think we won 8 5. For some reason me and my Dad were in the East paddock, not somewhere we generally went in.I went to his testimonial match which was after his sacking. 100 per cent it is Keith Dyson. Shame injury ended his football career when he was just starting to show his best form for Blackpool. He had worked hard to improve his speed as he was not the quickest and was definitley faster that season until the injury came.It is Keith Dyson. Think that picture was a pre season friendly v City.
He had a testimonial at Blackpool which included a family fun day at Norbreck Castle. The highlight being me taking penalties against George Wood.
Possibly the most bizarre combination I've ever seen.Another nicked off Facebook ,The famous Graham Berry ,he would have loved Simon Sadler and whats happening now.View attachment 6425

Agree legendProper BFC legend big Graham.
I was there.Bloomfield Road season !968/69, I'm guessing it's the Mighty v Hull City. It's got to be one of the first matches of the season looking at the pitch and looking through the Roy Calley bible Hull were first up and Pool won 2-0 in Division2 with two from Tom White in front of 16,755.View attachment 6556
Who is that player in between Suddaby and Dennis Wann?Anglo Italian final 1971.

I wondered that. Henry Mowbrey?Who is that player in between Suddaby and Dennis Wann?
William McGrotty I think between Wann and Sudds and I think Johnny Johnson between Wann and Taylor. Not 100%I wondered that. Henry Mowbrey?
And who is between Denis Wann and Alan Taylor?
Johnson sounds right. I'll hold my hand up about McGrotty....not a clue.William McGrotty I think between Wann and Sudds and I think Johnny Johnson between Wann and Taylor. Not 100%
Although also from NewcastleWell it's certainly not Alan Suddick
I think the amber socks are the clue. Didn't Bolton play in red socks?I've seen this photo before and thought it was v Bolton
Yup, I reckon so, too.William McGrotty I think between Wann and Sudds and I think Johnny Johnson between Wann and Taylor. Not 100%
Just noticed there were only four defensive players out of a 13-man outfield squad, which proves two things. 1. Stokoe's approach was quite adventurous. 2. I'm short of something better to do.
In the group games you got a point for every goal scored, so it paid to attack.Just noticed there were only four defensive players out of a 13-man outfield squad, which proves two things. 1. Stokoe's approach was quite adventurous. 2. I'm short of something better to do.
uncanny but I think the man in blue shirt with back to camera might be my dad (rip) - he was a steward and fan for many years from 1978Argghhh, this was the other image I wanted to attach, vs Barnet.
