OLD PICTURES OF BLACKPOOL FC

I remember the knocking down of the Kop. I nipped behind the metal barriers in these pictures to pinch a small lump of concrete that I still use as a paper weight - one of places in the ground where I stood with my dear Dad when I was small. A happy reminder.

Which reminds me. You don't see people in the crowd in the programme with a circle round their head which entitled them to a prize any more. I thought about turning up at a game with my head in a large cardboard circle to increase my chances.
I was hoping to get picked.

Wont post the actual pics due to copyright, but there appears to have been some more Aerial photos of Bloomfield Road (and Blackpool in general) here:-

You can use the map to scroll in to Blackpool then click on the pictures you want. Whilst some of these have been seen/posted previously, there are some new ones on here from 1945, 1948 and 1950 (showing the Kop and East Paddock before they were concreted in the 50s) and also some from 1962 showing the Kop with its new lid (although I'm not sure what's going on with the pitch on these ones?!)

In the kop to the left of the goal. Usual place for me in 70’s. Sometimes used to stand by the corner where the coppers used to gather especially when tv was there. Spot yourself on MOTD later

EXACTLY. I'm almost 70 now, and it's sad that Billy Cartmell, then The Oystons, between them, have badly run my club for about half my life.
Our immediate future looks secure, and even bright, under Simon Sadler's stewardship. 🧡 UTMP 🧡
..and yet much that I despise them, we have had two of the most important events in our history under Cartmel's and Oystains stewardships.

Catrmel sacked Alan Brown , the other owner well you can make your own mind up about him , far outweighs anything else.

Not sure whether this has previously been posted….but this is an amazing view of a packed kop with the tower almost acting as a floodlight!
At home versus Hull City 10th aug 1968 . 2-0 Tom White scored at least one of the goals . The Kop does look full but in fact the crowd was about mid teens so not really. Pity not able to zoom in to see myself behind the goal !

Cheers 66 , I could have a stab at the Arsenal team but that would be showing off......
I was actually thinking more about the Arsenal team, Blackpool being further away in the photo, but I'm hopeless as far back as 63. I remember the likes of Frank McLintock and George Armstrong but I'm really struggling with this photo.

Best effort left to right Eastham , Barnwell , *, *, *, Mcleod , Strong , Brown , Baker , Ure , Furnell.

I have fond memories of a game at Wigan in 1985, where we drew 1-1 thanks to a brilliant Eamonn O'Keefe goal. He ran from the halfway line and beat Tunks in style to send the Tangerine Army (seen in the top left pic) wild in the autumn sun. Colin Greenall, Nicky Law, Mike Conroy and Steve Hetzke are also some of the players on these pics; not forgotten.
