One for the Stay Away from Blackpool Vigilantes

I know when I go out of my front door there's hardly any fresh air or sunshine. I need to drive 90 miles to get those.

Ours is fresh clean Lancashire air... Not the smog that hangs over Yorkshire..
Why not drive as far as you want to go wherever you want? We want visitors to boost the local economy...

You're allowed to, doesn't mean you have to.

Fresh sea air is a fantastic tonic for anyone, including folk from Yorkshire... Many people living in more densely populated areas are often exposed to increased levels of pollution so getting out into the countryside and seaside is a great way to give their immune systems a boost and freshen up those lungs. Not only that, but a change of environment and getting out among nature, hearing the sound of the sea and even swimming in the cold water is great for stimulating healthy endorphins and improving peoples mental health and wel-being.

Been in my back garden all day.

I’m sorry if I sound like a broken record but some of us have weak immune systems and if we get this it’ll finish me off. Sorry if I’m being a dick for looking after my health and my wife’s health by staying home...

Sea is definitely bluer than it has been for years and the Lake District view looking North has been clear as a bell most days.
Getting locked down here isn't much of a chore.

Well it seems more healthy than the smoking fags could protect against Covid claim! 🤣

There is likely far less risk of transmission outdoors. However people shouldnt get blase and maintain social distancing.

Read a report that said the 2 metre rule was in effect for a reason & you were between 5 to 10 times more likely to get covid if this was reduced to 1 metre.

Oi, Joe, never apologise, you are doing absolutely the right thing for you and your missus, and I don't think anyone on here would have it any other way. We all want to see all of us back at B/R next year, no matter how much we fall out on here 👍

I didn’t they were from Blackpool, I said died in Blackpool. Apology accepted in advance.

Out of interest, what is the "Why not say that to the relatives of...." thing all about?

Do you not think that's a bit of a stupid approach ....

I mean if you said to me..."I'm going to take my kid up Blackpool Tower for a day out on Sunday"

and I replied with... "Why don't you tell that to the wife of the bloke who had a stroke and died on the Tower last Friday" [Nobody actually died before I get accused of being insensitive]

Woud you not think .... "That was a bit of a stupid thing to say"?

Keep plugging away, you will find something eventually.

Does anyone who is worried about COVID still smoke? Or drive? You’ll be doing yourselves and your families a huge favour if you deal with those things first.

No one asked Joe to apologise? He needs to stay home and should stay home.....it isn’t anyone’s fault...it’s the fault of this Virus that he is in a bad spot

Drove from Starr Gate to Fleetwood today.

Clearly loads of visitors all parked up and strolling on the prom and beach.

Was odd seeing it like that yet everything shut down.

Can't blame people. Like us wanting the Dales or the Lakes - to see the sea or stand on sand is also something special.

As someone else said - the views of Lakeland and the colour of the sea is beautiful at the moment. I know we've had a great run of weather but some of this has to come from a reduction in pollution??

I think what we call all agree is there is no black and white answers.

Those shielding will see people going out as “I’m alright jack” and selfish. Those who want to go back to work and get a bit of fresh air will argue their odds of getting it are remote, why should their lives (and livelihood) go on hold for something that has around a 5% chance of effecting them.

Obviously I won’t be risking it, but I get why people want to crack on now
