OT Clarkson's Farm on Amazon

I have to say I'm absolutely loving this.

As well as being amusing with some fantastic characters working with him it's really very interesting to see the workings of farm life explaining it from scratch.

Give it a try. Really good. If you aren't a Clarkson fan I think you'd like him in this. He's deadly serious about his farm and his passion comes across.

It's really good, I do like Clarkson though, apparently it's all his own money as well, the lad helping him is TV gold.

I think young Kaleb makes the show. Incredible young lad. 21 and runs his own farm yet has his own contracting out services to other farmers. Absolute legend. Great to see young people like him being shown as both hard working and entrepreneurial without ever leaving his village. Clarkson clearly has a massive admiration and liking for the kid. It's great to watch.

Yeah the initial outgoings for Clarkson are eyewatering.

Genuine laugh out loud which I haven't done to a TV show for years (Grand Tour and CMH-Top Gear aside).

It does help I also like Clarkson as well for his bumbling bufoonery and er... opinions on things.

Kaleb is a star!!
Very good watch...............it's done more for highlighting issues farmers face than Countryfile has in 20 years.

TV would be a much poorer place without Clarkson, I think the difference between him (as well as May and Hammond) and most other TV presenters these days is he doesn't take himself remotely seriously, an excellent knack of pretending he doesn't know what he's doing and winging it while producing massively enjoyable and hugely professional TV.

He also really irritates the Guardian, which is always a good thing.

Totally agree - biggest own goal of all time from
The BBC letting him go! Clarksons actions pale into insignificance from Bashir’s

Yep, they've clawed a bit of Top Gear back now with the current presenters but it does still resemble a mildly competent tribute act who nicked someone else's ideas.

Haha absolutely!

That review was ridiculous and obviously deliberately anti-Clarkson as there is another in the Grauniad praising it. The comments on the former are fuel to watch it 🙄😂

The Lucy Mangan one? She's an appalling writer anyway and quite obviously just watched the first ten minutes of silliness when he buys the tractor, she doesn't appear to ever watch more than half an hour of anything she reviews, Haunting of Hill House being a prime example.

He really sinks his heart in to the whole thing very quickly, he's not mucking about.

Perfectly put. The new TG line up is pretty good and it's enjoyable, other than the scripted slightly awkward gags that are delivered to the viewer as banter. But it's a million miles away from Clarkson, Hammond and May's effortless, often hilarious and seamless presentation skills.

I've just watched the last 2 episodes, entertaining, informative and brilliantly produced. JC may not be everyone's cup of tea and I'm sure there are plenty in Chad or Chippy that dislike him but he makes great TV.

Just watched the first 2 episodes and thoroughly enjoyed them both. Keleb is brilliant as are the other characters in the program. It is also very educational. Great tv.

Saw it on Gogglebox and it just reminded me why I detest the guy. Lord Smug of Smugsville and by all accounts a nasty piece of work.

I really enjoyed the show - binged it at the weekend with the Mrs.
Learnt a lot that I never knew about farming, and what a struggle it is, renewed respect for farmers and their struggles - what a bureaucratic country we are though - I'm amazed farmers bother what with all the paperwork that is required!!

Hope there's a second series and Kaleb gets his own show!!

Well just watched the last one. It makes me want to get involved in farming now. Just to help out and do a bit to keep an incredibly difficult, trying and extremely old and sacred profession going.

Hats off to Clarkson and Amazon - no matter your feelings towards either they done good. Hope there is a s2.

Watching it again and the part with Gerald driving the combine talking to Jezza on the walkie has to be one of the funniest bits of TV ever. The whole thing is one of the best pieces of TV in a long long time. It has absolutely everything and is so watchable. Apparently Jezza is shocked at the positive response it has had. Surely a second series to follow.

I found Countryfile very boring.
I tried not to like Clarkson but he says it has it is which I like. Someone I know recommended it has a must watch.

I've watched the first four episodes and I have to agree, it's been brilliant so far. I liked Top Gear and don't mind Clarkson, he's a pompous git at times but he's excellent at what he does and has come across really well in this programme 👍

My Grandad had some land up at Bleasdale and we got to know some of the local farmers and their daily struggles.
I’m definitely going to watch this series. Don’t mind Jezza either 😁

I don’t like Clarkson’s attitude but my daughter amazed me by recommending this series. And, having read the thread, I’ll take the advice.

Not a fan of Jezzer but thanks Mac for making me persist with this and really enjoying it now(up to the lambing).
A bit contrived at times but worth a watch if you are in doubt.

Good news.

Clarkson's Farm series 2 is already being filmed. It will be screened next year.

The series is Amazon's highest ever rated show for a series on Amazon programming.

It has also scored a 9.3 on IMDB which is unheard of for any film or TV show.

Not seen it but if it is up to Our Yorkshire Farm standard featuring the wonderful Owen family at Ravenseat farm then it will be very good.

Not a massive Clarkson fan but this is TV gold, we loved it and were gutted when we had seen them all. Gerald & Kaleb, take a bow.

I love programs that unearth great natural people. Kaleb and Gerald are fantastic finds. The 4 year old daughter Clem on Our Yorkshire Farm is my favourite though. She is a real character.

Me and the other half both enjoyed, and you see a different side to him, well worth a watch.
Can’t understand why Amazon aren’t commissioning a second series as it’s been a big hit.

They will, it's their biggest hit and not exactly a big budget production unless you count some drone shots and Clarkson's wine spend.

I don't know of single person who doesn't love it.
