Our Average Away Attendance

Noticed on the Posh message board that their average away attendance this season is 1047. Considering our magnificent away support this season and been mentioned by many other clubs fans and not to mention how much It has meant to Critch and the players, l would put our average around 1600.

Any other views, or does any poster know the true figure?

I think that's an optimistic estimate tbh. A lot of midweek away games, I would think we're not too much above the Peterborough figure.

I'm surprised Posh's average is that high though. They're not the best supported team and have been pants away from home.

We’ve travelled in big numbers to T'Rovers, Sheff United, Nobbers, West Brom, Birmingham, Derby, Fulham, Bristol etc. The lowest l think has been Luton even at Coventry we took nearly a thousand on a shit Tuesday night in February.

Just think. If we’d let you have the Kop you would possibly have been higher than us.

7 years visiting the same old grounds, bumbling along and shitfans Preston still beat you on the excitement of your first season back.

Perhaps we’re not quite as shit as you think we are and you’re not quite as amazing. 🤔

I actually think your support is pretty good and vocal.
I’m also pretty proud of how our away support has held up after all this time in the same division with not even a sniff of the play-offs.

But travelled in not so big numbers to Hull, Swansea, Cardiff, Luton , millwall. As much as some like to big it up our away support is nothing special really.

Despite all that, you surely agree Brad Potts is a bell end though?

You lot don't support. Spectate when it's going well, but big fat boo more often than not.

As was said last night by both manager and players, you wouldn't know if we were one nil up or down because of the level of support.

I’m smelling something here…

The support that left early last week?

What is this ‘big fat boo’ you lot all refer to? Seems like quite an infantile phrase.

Not sure where that graphic is from but at times there isn't an away number even released. It was much easier when they said how many were there.

Also depends on if certain games get drawn on weeknights or if like the rovers game we had nowt to play for.

Or for eg Barnsley, meant to be a weekend but they bottled it and ended up a week night.

No, you’re shit, and we have played in the Premier

Also not sure loads left early just many didn't stay for the end of season awards after the game. Was a poor time to hold them.

One of your infantile fans put it on YouTube when you were stuffed at Bloomfield Rd.

Slightly OT, back in the 80's BFC had the 2nd highest away attendance as a proportion of home gate in the FL. Think it was MU at No 1.

I’m not convinced by those numbers at all… Where are they from?
No idea where some come from as no split in attendances is released from some clubs. Like us, we don't release the away number, which we should as it's not hard.

Its not worth the hassle arguing with rivals over who took more to Cardiff on a Tuesday night. The Blackpool fans who came to Derby were in good voice and did their team proud. Preston were very quiet in comparison but its not really that important at the end of the day.
Go to as many games as you can afford or family commitments allow, and back your team, win or lose. Don't take any notice of what other fans say about you, its not worth the blood pressure!

We once had 23 Wimbledon fans at Derby for a night match. We gave them a huge round of applause for turning up after all the usual "come in a taxi" stuff.

Thinking about it, might that be average number of fans visiting Peterborough, rather than the number they take to away games?

Just seen the final scores and attendances from the last day of the season from 1983. We lost at home to Hartlepool 2 1 in front of 2,143 in Division 4. Goes to show how far we've come.
