Our new rivalry with Swindon!

Went to Swindon in the almost promotion season , if memory serves we right James Quinn scored a pen in a one all draw.
Before the game in a local pub I got talking to the local yokels and to a man (and woman) they honestly said that they had never heard of Blackpool
Too much keeping it in the family down there me thinks !

Swindon?? Who the heck are Swindon??

Awaits posters (under 50yrs old) who give me detailed info on the Wiltshire club, while not drinking milk....🤪

I had one of their fans saying they had as much history as us. I pointed out we have over 1100 top flight games to their 40 odd, he hasn't responded since. Clueless!

Id struggle to find Swindon on a map, whereas EVERYONE knows where the Gold Coast is...

Id struggle to find Wiltshire on a map...

I live in Swindon. I had to do a presentation on where I lived at a global IT meeting. Trying to make Swindon glamorous was an impossible task. So I didn't both. Trains and roundabouts. That's all that is here. And a mediocre football club.

The missus drags me to the outlet village and I often head north via the A419 if the A34 is stuffed. Oddly, the County Ground is one place I have never been to.

Swindon is a bit of a dump, but a lot of Wiltshire is really very nice, and ‘olde worlde’.
I wouldn’t say taking Nile Ranger off them was much to crow about.

This is why I have always found it bizarre that people from other towns say Blackpool is a shit place to live. In terms of "things to do" Blackpool could beat any other town in the country. The Pleasure Beach, The Sandcastle, The Promenade (and everything that offers), Miles upon miles of beach, Pubs-a-plenty, few Nightclubs sprinkled in, Stanley Park.. the list goes on

Obviously Blackpool has its faults, but I think we were spoilt growing up with all that on our doorstep. It's hilarious people can't see the irony in the fact they come to Blackpool for a holiday/a weekend because there is fuck all to do where they are from and then turn around and say its a shit hole

Can't see what all the fuss is about with Swindon.
A nothing football club in a nothing town.
How some lumphead can say they have as much history is laughable.
Come back when one of your players has scored a FA Cup final hat trick.
Come back when one of your players has been knighted.
Come back when one of your players has won the ballon d'Or

It's like Sheffield Wednesday comparing themselves with Man City.

Having said that, Swindon are getting a Wednesday thing going on saying they are massive in their tweet 🤣🤣🤣

The one thing you can say about Swindon fans is they generally know very little about football in general. En mass. Whenever I have spoken to a Swindon fan. They support Liverpool or Man U. And then wonder around in a Swindon shirt when Swindon get promoted from League Two. It's a constant cycle.

People say all that but when it comes to them having a free weekend and wanting somewhere to go they’ll soon be on the M55.

No disrespect to Swindon Town but why the hell would he go there instead of here?because he had a successful load spell? 😏
Having had a brief look at Swindon's team it doesn't look very encouraging for the season ahead.

Never be rivals.Cant be possible with the intense rivalry with the likes of the Cods and MK Dons.

Who do we reckon Wellens will have a scrap with when he returns? I hope Tony Parr still has his boxing gloves 😁

It was famous for it’s railway engineering works. I visited the railway museum there years ago and it was the most interesting place in a dull town. I think Swindon fans have a rivalry of sorts with Oxford Utd.
