Outbreak - the virus that shocked the world

Just watching this on catch up. Surprised there's not a thread on it.
Pretty shocking really. Doesn't show China in a good light at all. In fact their govt's actions have been despicable.
Lies, lies and more lies. Cover up after cover up.

I posted when in started - it's further down the page

Only watched the second half last night

Informative - particularly about what China must have known

Ah, apologies. I thought you were simply referring to the ITV news story as opposed to the documentary. Not much credit to be had anywhere it seems.

There have been poor decisions made across the globe.(apart from Taiwan)
It was appalling to hear the president of Brazil talking the way he did.
Sobering at the end of the documentary where the scientist says this will be with us for a long time.
Personally I don't think the virus will be totally eradicated as there are too many, not just in Britain who think it'll never affect them😔

Sadly I think your last line will be correct.

Since Smallpox is the only disease, infectious to humans, that has ever been eradicated, I think you’re on fairly safe ground there. Not sure that that is entirely down to those who think it will never effect them, mind.

Indeed it all comes back to them even though our own govt has made some extremely poor decisions. The lack of condemnation on here of China's role doesn't surprise me though.
Tell you what 20s, we'll go out and sacrifice a ** Chinese national for you as an offering to the Covid gods who we've angered, will you then please shut the ** fuck up about ** China?

CHINA VERY BAD, we know, much like the sun is quite bright, we don't bang on about that constantly either because, you know, it's a given.

In no way whatsoever does China's skulduggery have anything remotely to do with this government sending the schools back or blowing their fat Etonian loads all over Serco. It's not mentioned because it's not ** relevant.

When the Australian bush fire response was so poor last year I doubt there were many posts on Campbelltown City's message board condemning the concept of fire.

I've chucked my fried rice in the bin in solidarity with 20s.

Tell you what Lytham just incase you hadn't noticed, this isn't a thread about schools, or Australian bush fires, it was about a documentary the other night which exposed China for their lies and deceit. Perhaps you missed it. I'm sure you can get it on catch up, I did.

I'm not sure if you're deliberately obtuse?

Neither am I. You just seem to be telling me what I can and cannot post, simply based on your own pov with regards to China and other stuff. Some people mentioning no names seem to be in a constant criticism mode. Constant criticism being a polite term of course.

The Mongolians should have finished them off when they had the chance then we wouldn’t have to suffer their ice cream and pasta inventions

Shouldn’t the world be seeking recompense from China for all the lost lives and livelihoods? If we had any balls we should sue the CCP and give them a ballpark figure as of today and if they don’t accept liability and pay we’ll just deduct it from our national debt which I presume is primarily owed to them. Or is that too simplistic?
It’s a shame Trumps gone as he’d have been with us but Beijing Biden no chance.

Germany came up with a figure last year of circa €750 billion that they calculated owed to them by China probably double now, but l wouldn’t be surprised if China get a number of bills depending on the outcome of the WHO investigation.

Ah well done Robbie, good of you to see you using words taken from other languages. Klaxon is taken from Greek I believe. There you go, we've left the EU but were still embracing the language of our European neighbours and still to be our friends.

As Bazzle alluded to, staggering hypocrisy.

Yeah, I was thinking of telling you and Robbie that there's a few good football threads on the other side of the board but realising Robbie doesn't do football anymore, I thought I'd best keep quiet Ooops.

Do you really think the WHO investigation will unearth anything? Or do you think it will have all been covered up?

My work here is done.

What i found interesting was the report in regards to Taiwan stating they’d waited nearly 20 years for this after SARS. They had in place a health monitoring system or whatever you want to call it second to none, set up in response to what happened in 2003. .This put them in control of the virus from the off.Interestingly I never realised that Taiwan are not a member of WHO, apparently on China’s say so.

I see on the news the Chinese are saying the virus came from somewhere else. Like I said, you’ll never get to the truth

We can all condemn China for the virus outbreak, but name one country that would have accepted responsibility had it originated elsewhere?
