Over 12m now vaccinated

We deal with a lot of Hospitals in Ireland and a chap I was speaking to on Friday had already had both jabs and he only works in the Stores so not front line
My father and pur ex loanee Robbie williams work for a pharmaceutical company delivering drugs to hospitals and chemists and were told they’re not getting it for another 6 weeks but hospitals and nursing home staff have in fairness

Amazing performance and so welcome.
can’t wait for mine - even if Bill Gates is tracking my movements I’ll take that gladly!!!

Absolutely Herculean effort by the UK, and very very good news.

Just shows the immense challenge a vaccine program like this presents, that its still less than 20% and at a rate of 3 million per week will need another 4 months to get to the end even if we only needed 1 dose, so add on another 6 months for the 2nd dose. Alternatively don't vaccinate people under 40 who are healthy?

If we all needed to be vaccinated yearly we would basically have to maintain the current effort indefinitely.

Mind boggling.

Tremendous effort, well done to everyone involved. I think there’s going to be ongoing increases in vaccination centres/places to get the jab, which will increase numbers significantly.

At this rate I'm hoping to get the nod in the next 3/4 weeks as some areas are already doing over 60s.🤞

I reckon once they’ve done the most vulnerable they should skip the 50-70s and do shop workers, teachers, police etc etc...get the kids back to school and immunise the spreaders...😎

I just turned up at Winter Gardens and cracked on I’d had a letter inviting me in for the jab. Clearly I wasn’t in their records so they asked for my NH Number. I gave them it and said it was because I have bad asthma knowing they couldn’t check. They asked me to wait and within half an hour called me in gave me the Oxford jab and gave me a date 6th April and time for second jab. Call it initiative if you will and that jab would probably have been wasted otherwise anyway as it couldn't have been put back in the fridge I’m guessing

You are a very naughty boy Blood. Live long and prosper 🖖

Think 13.1m (up to Monday) includes 516k second doses, although that's more like 13.2m

Likely 350k - 400k first doses given yesterday so there's a good chance we've broke through 13m first doses anyway.

EU has done 17.6m although they seem to be sticking rigidly to a 3 week interval so the actual numbers protected could be below the UK.

Went for mine on Monday night 7pm.
I couldn't believe how quiet it was.
For such a large area there must have only been 10 or so people in there.

If the younger population (40's and under) want the vaccine and can get there between 6 and 8 in the evening then I reckon they could get through more people even quicker, obviously if they register 1st👍🏻

Personally Blood I think that`s not only dishonest but highly selfish and irresponsible.Imagine the problems and chaos if everyone or a significant number behaved like you.I don`t think queue jumping, lying and cheating is what this country needs at a time like this.

Shame on you.

Fantastic achievement by the NHS, see what happens when the right people are put in charge of co-ordinating such a rollout.

I had mine on Sunday (AZ) felt fine till Monday night but must admit to feeling bloody awful ever since, just starting to wear off a little now but I have slept for Britain!

Heard a great story yesterday from a business contact in Germany. She has friends in Chile and apparently the Chilean government ordered 40m vaccines from different suppliers. That's basically enough for the whole country. Problem is, there's been no staggered approach to the deliveries so they have 40m now and difficulties with storage etc...The solution (so I'm told) is to tell the rest of South America that Chile is open for vaccine tourists! The Argies are flocking there...

Can't see the issue myself. When I went, once they crossed my name off, I just walked through and out the exit. There will be loads doing the same so plenty left at the end of each day which might as well be used by someone rather than wasted. There really are some petty individuals out there.

Also, no need for me to worry about vaccine passports etc now so literally everyone's a winner.

I thought you weren't keen on getting one?
The vaccine fanaticism is a worry. When the news is plastered with stories of the govt still ** about with doses, timings, mix-and-match, you know this thing is far from the finished article. Deaths remain high despite millions being vaccinated yet there is little curiosity as to why.

It can affect frail, weaker people a little but they say 😁

Mrs just back from hers (work) and they gave a card which after dose 2 she was told to get laminated as it would be her Covid passport. Nando's here we come..........
