Read in today’s paper Gary Glitter has had his first vaccine in prison.

14,557,000 first doses up to close of play yesterday including 545,000 yesterday alone, undoubtedly we've passed the 15m target today and will exceed it by 500k or so by the 15th, although technically the government met its target of "offering" the jab to all over 70s last Monday.

My hubby just had his vaccine at the walk in centre was in and out within ten minutes. I expected I’d be waiting in the car at least 20 minutes. There were lots of cars coming and going in the ten minutes I was parked up

Was in and out there in less than two minutes yesterday. Was very quiet. As TAM alluded to it's a shame they don't seem to be working to full capacity.

Supplies possibly tightening up a little? We know that Pfizer have scaled back deliveries whilst they reorganise their production, 505k yesterday was actually a little disappointing, I'd be interested to know if you got that or Ox/AZ?

My husband had the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine and had no side effects from it at all

I wouldn’t be surprised if the number is actually more. I’m not a conspiracy theorist but I reckon they are in front of where the6 say they are but want to quell the idea that it’s time we were let out just yet.

I'm thinking the numbers of first jabs will drop off shortly as the wave of second jabs after 12 weeks will need to be done.

I would imagine the second jabs will drop off first, keep the first jabs rolling as long as you can.

It would also make sense to keep the EU out of the picture to quell calls for vaccine export restrictions, although on balance probably not.
