Peacock on loan Confirmed

Remember the mistakes Tyrer made, now imagine if he was playing as a passing keeper, intricate passing between defenders.

On the mistakes he made alone other clubs would have been calling him crap, yet many would have been happy with him.

Let's be right here would you like to go to work with 20,000 screaming Brummies behind you - if anything's going to knock your confidence that will. Bruce will get the best out of him and all our players - his record with us has already shown us that.

He will quickly get used to not leaving his line as per Banks's instructions.

His face too when the first time in a game he drives a long diagonal up to CJ only to see CJ run away from it as if bounces out for a throwing.

CJ will come back and tackle him and then turn his challenges on himself.

Don't know why but the thought of Brummies giving him stick makes me want to cut him more slack than I would normally

I’ll wait and see what we are saying about our keepers after the West Brom game.
I imagine they will both play, and will probably have a lot to do.

The usual pessimists are out in force slagging the lad off as they will have read some other poster quoting some fans in other posts from his ex clubs, none will have seen him play, it's a mental disease.
yep, well said. I expect Bruce is likely to give them both early opportunites to stake their claim to be no 1 and I'm happy to go along with whatever he decides. I suggest they both need a run of games before the fans should start commenting on them in negative terms.

Clean slate for me and I judge everyone how they do for us, not what they have done previously. His CV isn’t too bad for someone who apparently isn’t very good.

As others have said, look at the difference in confidence with Fletcher, why can’t that be the same for this lad?

You’d like to think between him and Ravizolli one will be competent enough in the sticks. Let’s face it, Tyrer wasn’t that great….

Spot on

Do you think we'll sign another keeper?
Been told by a Wednesday fan at work, that he’s a decent signing for us, didn’t work out at brum as he’s not the best with his feet, but an excellent shot stopper.
For a team that likes to play out from the back signing a goalkeeper who’s not too good with his feet doesn’t sound like a marriage made in heaven. We could be in the market again come January.

Is it me, or does he sound like the Fletcher of goalkeepers. Remember how wounded Fletch was when he came to us…

Then Brucey had a word, the Tangerine army sang his name and he started to do the kind of confident, skilful stuff with the ball that barefooted Brazilian kids do in playgrounds.

we have to judge it on what we see…Rav looked so bad it was inevitable we’d be looking elsewhere. Maybe this will prove to be a great move. Let’s see

Well we'll have to see. I don't think we play out as much as the Critch version?

Yeah to be fair I don’t think we are anywhere near the levels of brum in terms of playing out from the back - they would do it no matter how much pressure. Bruce will not be afraid to go long if needed

There's a difference between playing it out to unmarked players which we do, as opposed to being the player starting moves and taking the ball in difficult areas etc, like for e.g. Peterborough used to do. Forcing the keeper to pass it short to marked players and passing through the press. Can be great when it comes off and you have someone who can do it, but if you have players, outfield or GK, who aren't as comfortable and try and do that they'll make mistakes and it'll hit their confidence.

Think of it like asking Ekpiteta to do it, he just wasnt comfortable, but was a great defender at times.

In the modern game it really helps if defenders are more comfortable on the ball, less so the keeper unless your going all in with that pass to feet at all costs approach from each GK etc.

The guy is 28 years old and hasn't been good enough to be a Number 1 at any club other than Sheff Wed in 2021. If this is where we are at as a club despite all the money gained from player sales then we are in for a rough season.

Getting a bit tired of David Downes worked with x player in X year so that's why we signed them

Hope it works out
We were generally supportive of Tyrer in spite of his gaffes, think he may be a, good fit as he clearly has talent but one mistake can ruin a career at the wrong club
It's beyond bizarre how people are banging about his gaffes, but all keepers make them at this level.
I thank Tyrer for the number of games he kept us in personally, and the lad made some stunning saves and often multiple in a game.

I know little about BPF so will not pass comment . I do know about Harry Tyrer, and would suggest that he is/was totally unsuitable for L1 football. Pool’s Defence last term had to leave him on his line for corners and free kicks. They knew he couldn’t come out and collect. How anyone would want him back eludes me .

Say you know fuck all about football in one paragraph 🤣

Are we a team that likes to play out from the back? I think we'll be more direct this season based on the signings to date.
