Yep ,absolute utter garbage from him. I love it how he professes that he's up front and straight and his post is heavily loaded with sly digs at various people.
I generally don't get involved in the racism issues but he doesn't half like to play the racist comment. People having a different approach on how to deal with racism issues isn't necessarily racism in itself but people like to throw out the racism comments simply because people disagree with him on it. Same with Cat too. Another who endlessly plays the racist card. Think it was 1966 who's views are pretty left wing and I'm sure is fiercely anti- racism commented that he doesn't really see it appearing on here. Words to that effect anyway. And I agree with him.
That post is the biggest heap of inane gibberish I've read on this forum. Nothing personal, he/she might be an ace person, but the writer needs to attend a literacy course. Does that qualify as an insult?

🙄 Sometimes 20’s dribbles and bounces up and down in his seat when he’s defending the indefensible. When that happens, his command of grammar does tend to fall apart.

Disco, you are talking b0110x.

While his grammar may not have been perfect, I am sure that everybody could fully understand the point he was making.

On a forum like this, I'd imagine it's more important to get your point across than to satisfy members of the Grammar Police like your goodself.

I do hope that you don't consider my response be insulting.

It's not a matter of grammatical accuracy, but of clarity. He could have made the point far more concisely and clearly. Of course I don't find your response insulting. It's just indicative of a limited understanding of the need for concision and precision, particularly from a poster who appears to have an elevated sense of his own importance and intellect.

Thanks for clearing that up Disco.

"the need for concision"

hmm? Bit clunky don't you think? I know what you mean though. There's no need to go overboard with grammatical precision - it's a message board. However, there are limits. Sometimes the occasional full-stop would be appreciated.

🙄 Don’t worry, I’ve just had your village on the phone. They’re sending someone over in the morning to collect you

Why mock someone on grammar. Smacks of childishness.
It isn't though. Understanding the context - a message board - one can be more forgiving. Even then though some posts are difficult to understand. The standards on here are quite high. I would hope that this would rub off onto the more grammatically challenged. To a degree, I think it does.

You’re condescending in the extreme. Your grammar isn’t perfect. Your posting mate thinks it’s acceptable to call me a **.

What good company you inhabit.

You continually mock others; I went to Arnold too, what gives you a monopoly on English? You sneering non-entitled entity.
Not sneering at all. As for having 'a mate' who calls you names; well, I don't. I don't mock anyone on here unless it's ironically or in jest. Neither do I wear my school as a badge of honour. I was not one to join the Old Boys association. Neither do I feel entitled.
I hope that's sorted it out.

I think tensions are just rising a bit high and people are getting a bit cranky all around at the mo. Cabin fever and boredom is setting in.
I take it all with a pinch of salt right now. New Years resolution being not to get drawn into battles that aren’t worth it, and that’s most of them these days 👍

Yep, it pays to remember that "nothing matters very much, and few things matter at all"; more so on a small insignificant forum on a unregarded tiny blue planet at the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the galaxy.

Some people on here do get unnecessarily het up on a daily basis at people they probably will never meet

And none of them seem to realise that the problem why they get het up lies within themselves...

Hi 1966. From Wikipedia, which is, of course, no guarantee of veracity. "Concision is a writing principle of eliminating redundancy. For example, a sentence of "It is a fact that most arguments must try to convince readers, that is the audience, that the arguments are true." may be expressed more concisely as "Most arguments must demonstrate their truth to readers." " Why is it clunky, if the word exists and conveys its meaning?

It can be if it's thrown in to a statement that is received in more of a conversational tone than such a word would seem comfortable. That was my point. On reflection, however, it was late, I was tired and probably went over the top with that comment.
Please feel free to continue posting with as much concision and precision as you deem appropriate. 🙂

Perhaps with your strong political leanings maybe the red planet is more to your taste.

Wow some right snow flake nonsense on this thread

I can probably count on 1 finger the amount of times somebody has said something that actually affected me in any way on avftt

I've had loads of healthy debates on this board and the old one before and i just dont get why folk would complain and try and get other people banned

I also dont think of anybody being my enemy

What a strange comment that was

The only thing i would like to see is a list of the moderators so we don't get in a situation like we have done before when debating with a moderator normally ends up with a ban

I'm hoping those days are gone but still it would be nice to know who the mods are

Ha ha ha still going well. I have rhino skin, good job as I get dogs abuse on here. Good job I really don’t give a fuck.

I see it’s acceptable for a very vocal poster to call the majority of the population morons. One rule for some and another rule for others (mods).
Unfortunately it appears many on here would defend him and blow smoke up his arse whenever they can. You are certainly correct...one rule etc. The 'ignore' button helps tremendously 😌
