Wonder what they've made of Blackpool's promotion? There was a time when it did feel that Pilley was starting to win the battle. They had the academy and facilities to boast and Blackpool fans were turning up there regularly (during NAPM), their average attendance shot up to an average 3500 (before slowly coming down to 3000).
Meanwhile down the road, Haythornthwaite was wooing crowds with the Brett testimonial, his bar for matches and the promise of Football League by errr well next year.
Suddenly they are back to square one because both clubs only have tiny hard-core fan bases which will never increase, are now in the shadow of three nearby Championship clubs (and now two nearby League One clubs) and I can't imagine either club will be cash rich after the last two years.
Is that it? Have both men seen their best days and are now investing in a white elephant?
