Play off coping strategies

Had £50 on Oxford. So either we win, happy days. We draw, happy days. I get £110 back. Happyish days
That’s exactly what I do £100 only in the final though for us to lose,I’m far from being well off but my god it is the best £100 I’ve ever lost & over the years I’m glad to say I’ve lost a good amount thankfully, fingers crossed I lose another £100 soon, it doesn’t make up for the disappointment but if it happens (it probably won’t) then I can stock up on special brew & some of lytham”s special tomatoes to get me through for a month or two by which time I shall have brainwashed myself into thinking league one is so much better than having to travel to the diseased scummy dump at the wrong end of the m55

Massive night again for us and the Club

I stopped properly enjoying our promotion season in 2010, when after the carnival at Scunny (4-2) I remember saying to Ian a Outram and Jerry of BASIL ‘if Boro don’t win, and we play like that until May we have a big chance’ Sure enough Boro unexpectedly lost, and I was a Peterborough so stressed at 1-0 up on the final day, in the final 15 mins I nearly kicked my feet to bits let alone me shoes on the terraces of London Rd

Every scenario had been gone through my head for a month, and against Forest, you really got no idea what a mountain climb we were on after 20 mins - they hit the bar, scored and lead both matches early doors - then something snaps or happens and all of a sudden all looks smooth and easy. Our players clicked

The only way we can survive this week is if our lads can remember & repeat 2010 and 2012 heroics - I say to the players just watch Forest away - we massacred them - the scoreline never reflected the quality of our play

I say to all of you watching, it’s down to the players to cope and play it’s diwn to us to enjoy the best way we can - I was fearful against Cardiff that we’d do a Yeovil - played our final at Forest but though we rode our luck at times we seemed to have answers to the questions posed

Being a Blackpool fan has rare opportunities - seize the moment NC and do it for us - I will be in a Sports bar I have never used in SE London and hope I can here sone noise bouncing off the clouds in the sky cone 8pm

Way to cope - score loads of goals and have a smile

Lytham's special tomatoes?

(strangely reminds me of working at Hesketh's (now Strong's) in Lytham when I was a sixth former in the late 70s and we had a tomato price war with the Spar further down Clifton street. It got out of hand and we ended up selling tomatoes for about 4p a pound and Ivan Hesketh was ridiculously pleased with himself and was bellowing out all kinds of daft bollox in the street in his Bury accent like "Get yer tomaters, only 4p a pound, grown in a garden wi the gate shut!")

I think I've nearly convinced myself that it doesn't matter too much if we lose. Life will go on, we still won't have the Oystons, we will be able to go to games (*Indian and other variants permitting) with club actually doing everything it can to succeed, and I'm too old to be letting football disappoint endanger my mental and physical health anyway.

I'm also feeling more confident too, I have a gut feeling that Ellis Simms is going to have a great couple of weeks. I think he's a Championship striker and he now knows it and they'll be worrying about Yates.

Come on the Pool!
